seven years on the road. hundreds of campgrounds. thousands of neighbors. most were great. some were forgettable. and a few... a few were legendary for all the wrong reasons.
Generator Gary.
The Party Bus. labor day weekend at a state park in missouri. group of about 15 people in a class c motorhome that was clearly not designed for 15 people. music until 2am. beer cans everywhere. someone fell into our fire pit at midnight. literally fell into our fire pit. they apologized the next morning at least.
Drone Dan. flying a drone over the campground at dawn. DAWN. you know how loud drones are? louder at 5:45am i can tell you that. he was "getting footage for his youtube channel." cool story Dan, some of us are trying to sleep.
The Arguers. couple two sites over who fought. constantly. for three days straight. about everything. money, directions, whose turn it was to walk the dog. we heard every word through the thin campground air. it was like a reality show nobody asked for.
heres the thing though — for every bad neighbor theres been 50 great ones. the couple who brought over fresh-caught fish. the family whose kids played with ours all week. the retired guy who helped me fix my slide-out motor at 9pm with a flashlight.
campground neighbors are a lottery. mostly you win.

This is exactly what we needed. Starting a road trip next week.
We homeschool on the road and can vouch for these recommendations.
