"no motorcycles." this one kills me. i rode my bike to a campground in arkansas and they told me motorcycles werent allowed. not "no loud exhaust after 10pm" — NO MOTORCYCLES AT ALL. apparently theyre "too noisy." my bike is quieter than half the diesel pushers in the park but ok sure.

"no campfires." at a campground. where camping happens. i understand fire bans during drought conditions. totally get it. but this was a private park in MICHIGAN in OCTOBER with zero fire risk. "liability reasons." what are we even doing here then?

"no drying clothes on a line." apparently hanging your laundry outside is "unsightly." sorry i thought we were camping not living in an HOA subdivision. ive seen this rule at multiple parks and it drives me crazy.

"children must be accompanied by an adult at all times." like... ALL times? my kids cant ride bikes around the campground loop? isnt that literally the entire point of camping as a family? this isnt a warehouse district, its a campground with a 5 mph speed limit.

"rigs over 10 years old not accepted." this is classism disguised as a maintenance standard. some of the best-maintained rigs ive ever seen are older. age doesnt equal condition. my buddy has a 2008 Airstream that looks better than most 2024 models.

end rant. im going to go hang my laundry on a line at a campground that lets me.
