I need to say something that the RV community doesnt like to hear: its ok to quit.

I've watched three couples in our RV circle sell their rigs and go back to houses in the last year. All three felt like they failed. Like they couldnt hack it. Like something was wrong with them.

Nothing was wrong with them. They tried something, it wasnt for them, and they had the courage to admit it.

Signs It Might Not Be Working

You dread moving days instead of looking forward to them. You find yourself avoiding leaving the RV. Youre fighting with your partner more than youre enjoying each other. The maintenance and repairs feel crushing instead of manageable. You miss stability more than you value freedom.

None of these make you a failure. They make you a person who tried something bold and learned about yourself in the process.

What Quitting Looks Like

Sell the rig. Rent an apartment. Take a breath. You can always come back to RVing later. Some people take a year off and return refreshed. Some realize they prefer weekend camping to full-timing. Some discover that home is actually their favorite place.

This lifestyle is marketed as the answer to everything. Its not. Its one way to live. A great way for some people. A terrible way for others. The only failure is staying miserable because you think youre supposed to love it.

Question — does this work the same with a smaller rig?

Love this perspective. Not enough people talk about this openly.
