Alright I'll admit it — I was a Jellystone skeptic. The whole Yogi Bear theme seemed cheesy and overpriced. Brittany had to basically drag me there. The kids had been begging for months after seeing it on YouTube.
And you know what? I was wrong. Dead wrong.
Jellystone Luray in Virginia is legitimately one of the best family campgrounds we've visited. And we've visited a LOT of campgrounds.
The water park alone is worth the trip if you have kids. Slides, splash pads, lazy river thing. Our three spent the entire first day there while Brittany and I actually got to sit down and read books. BOOKS. When does that happen with three kids?
They do activities all day long. Wagon rides, craft stations, movie nights, dance parties. The kids were so tired by 8pm they went to bed without a single complaint. That never happens. NEVER.
Now is it pricey? Yeah. We paid around $80/night in peak season. But compare that to any other family vacation and its actually reasonable. A day at Disney would cost us triple that.
Oh and Luray Caverns is right down the road. Took the kids there on our last day. Totally worth the admission fee.
I owe Brittany an apology. And probably another trip to Jellystone.
