everybody talks about the big expensive mods — solar, lithium batteries, inverters. and yeah those are great. but some of the best improvements ive made to my truck camper cost less than a tank of gas.
heres my list. all under $100. all things i actually use every day.
LED puck lights ($15 for a 6-pack) — stuck these under cabinets with the adhesive backing. USB rechargeable, tap to turn on. way better than the harsh overhead lights. my camper actually feels cozy now.
Magnetic spice rack ($12) — tiny metal containers that stick to any metal surface. freed up a whole cabinet. seems small but space is everything in a truck camper.
Folding step stool ($25) — for reaching the upper cabinets and for sitting outside when i dont feel like hauling out a full chair. surprisingly useful.
Reflectix window covers ($30 for a roll) — cut to fit each window. keeps heat out in summer, cold out in winter, and gives you privacy. looks a little space-age from outside but who cares.
12v heated blanket ($35) — plugs into a cigarette lighter port. saved me from running the heater on mild nights. my propane bill dropped noticeably.
Command hooks everywhere ($10) — seriously. keys, towels, hats, leashes. every wall in my camper has command hooks. best organizing hack there is.
Portable door mat ($20) — one of those outdoor mats with the holes in it. catches sand and dirt before it gets inside. cuts my sweeping in half.
total cost: about $147. ok thats a little over $100 but close enough. every single one of these was worth it.
