Huntsville is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

Secluded facility along the Tennessee river on Redstone arsenal. Way past time to update the facilities and they aren't cleaned like they are supposed to be. Needs updated like in 2008 lol

The bathroom is nasty. The toilet stalls are rusted so bad, that the rust falls everywhere. They have quiet time for the ppl here...but not for anyone else. It not quiet here most of the time. Then you have the bicyclist with there loud talking as if they turned down their hearing aids. Standing in a group in front of bathrooms where you have to drive and make you have to go around them....as if... The bathroom is nasty. Standing in a group in front of bathrooms where you have to drive and make you have to go around them....as if they pay to be there. The weeds are so tall that if it as a bit taller I could loose my dog. But for 12.00 it's cheap with electric and water.

The facilities are mediocre at best as far as cleanliness. Site is cleaned by Phoenix and they never go by the checklist. Dirty lights, walls, toilets....mold in the showers and curtains. It needs a fresh coat of pain and normal in depth cleaning once a week.

We camped here in a 37 ft fifth wheel. It looked like there were only certain spaces that could accommodate the size. There was a playground for kids and across from the campground is the Tennessee river. It's very secluded and quiet with lots of shade. It takes about 15 minutes to get to gate 10 from this location. RV hookups included 50A/30A electric, and water. Dump station is located on shield road before you turn towards the park. There is a bath house for use as well. Overall it was not a bad stay. There were a good amount of long-timers, but I assume that helps keep the campground open as it's not well known. I will probably stay again.
