The GPS route is not RV friendly.

When I called to tell the hosts that we would be late arriving, I was so touched by their genuine concern for our wellbeing and safety. We finally made it to Azalea Acres about 11 pm. We were as quiet as we could be so as not to disturb other campers. The next morning, we received a text from the hosts telling us how glad they were we arrived safely. We could tell these dear people really care about their guests. And it was evident they really work hard at maintaining this beautiful park. Though our stay was short this time, we look forward to another longer stay at Azalea Acres!

We had a fantastic stay at Azalea Acres RV Park! The park is well-maintained and just far enough off the highway for a peaceful stay. The sites are spacious with full hookups and it is perfectly situated between Mobile, Pensacola and Gulf Shores for easy exploring.

Very gracious camp owner greeted us for our overnight stay and guided us into our pull-thru spot. She placed us far enough from the highway that it was quiet. Full 50/30/20 amp electrical, water and sewer hookups on a long gravel site with two sewer outlets, one for mid-RV dump and one for rear dump valve (if equipped). Campsite was perfect for us. We had a tiny camper, two 3- man tents, and a pop-up canopy. Amenities were fabulous - game area kept us busy & dry during rain shower, fire pit was appreciated & used both nights. The 2 unisex bathrooms are self-contained with sink/toilet/shower like a house bathroom. They were very clean, well-stocked and smelled good. The bathroom situation could be tricky if there are a lot of tent campers, but it was very quiet during our weekend. Nice little nature trail & plenty of downed wood at perimeter for fire. A picnic table would have been useful at our site but I forgot to ask if one would be available for our stay & we didn’t know if we could move one from another site. Great location to access Hamilton and Dismals Canyon. Would definitely stay again!

Great little campground off the highway! Pet other review- we didn’t have any issues with our f150 and 32 ft camper going up the hill before entering campgrounds. Dry asphalt up until the top. Like how the cleared a nice walking path in woods. Has games and activities like ping pong in their covered area.

Very clean with level spots for fast and easy set up. Price was very reasonable @$35 a night. We only needed 30amp hook up. Disc golf basket, small shoot range, ping pong & shuffle board. Nice bathrooms with showers. A nice nature trail too. We had no trouble going up the hill with our set up.

Heavy or Large RVs/Trailers should STAY AWAY from this campground. 7 to 10 percent grade narrow road to enter and exit (our truck has a measurement for this) Our 2023 Dulley Diesel barely, I mean hold your breath, engine keeps hiccuping, white knuckling it, barely made it up the hill with our 40' RV. Then once you get up there you land in slick-as-snot tumbled river rock that you can't easily walk or drive on.. Ended up on a small hill and slid (no joke) all the way down it trying to exit. We could not exit the way they recommend due to the PINCHED exit road.. it had 2 trees not much larger than a dulleys width apart, we were on tree roots on both sides of the truck when we did a test run. We would not have been able to make it straight through with the RV trailer.. even if we could have, there's a 90 degree turn at the end of that road to get on the narrow exit hill road with trees and forest on either side. A small light rig could find this place nice.. but anything larger than 25 ft probably would want to stay away.. not sure what we would have done if we couldn't make it up that hill.. they even have a sign that tells you to floor it when you are about to go up. Clean, nice, small campground if you don't have walking issues. We will not be back.. nerves are shot. See my pictures with notes to better understand. The picture labeled 10 percent grade is from the top looking down, also have a picture looking up from where the 90 degree exit turn is on the hill looking up so you can see part of the grade.. hard to take pictures of grade..
