From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by stunning views of the canyon and lush greenery that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. The park’s hiking trails are well-maintained and range from easy strolls to more challenging routes. The highlight for me was the Cloudland Canyon Trail, which takes you through breathtaking landscapes and leads to spectacular waterfalls. The sights and sounds of nature, combined with the fresh mountain air, create an invigorating experience that is hard to match. Overall, Cloud Canyon State Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether you’re an avid hiker, a family looking for a fun day outdoors, or simply someone in need of some peace and quiet, this park has something for everyone. I can’t wait to return and explore more of its beautiful trails! Highly recommended!

Our group of friends rented 6 yurts for 3 nights. Each yurt has a full size bunk bed, a futon, a table and stools, shelves, and side tables. Six yurts (#2-7) are around a playground area and the other four are on the other side of a bathhouse. It is ideal for a group and would be nice for just a family because each yurt has a good bit of privacy. The yurt wasn’t spotless, but nothing a few Clorox wipes and the provided broom couldn’t handle. We really enjoyed having the heater. The bathhouse was decently clean with two family bathroom/shower rooms and a women and men with two toilets (one out of order our entire stay) and a shower stall. We easily accessed the West Rim Loop trail and the trails down to the falls behind our village.

Very clean and sturdy yurts. The A/C was cold, and there was ample room inside for all of your camping/adventure gear.

Yurt #2 smelled like pee as soon as you sit on the futon. Minimum stay is 2 nights. We left very early the next day simply because we can't deal with the smells. Don't go to yurt#2.

I rarely give bad reviews, but this place was absolutely disgusting. It wrenched with extremely bad odor, spider webs everywhere in the ceiling, bed had dog/human hairs all over it, and mold completely covered the outside and part of the inside. For the price we paid, I’m wondering where are the negative stars…we didn’t even want to stay here!

Great overnight stop for us! Made our same day reservation with very friendly staff, entered after hours and picked up our site packet at the office building. Easy, level concrete pad to park on in FHU pull through site. Well kept park, clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again during our travels through Alabama!

One of the best parks we have stayed in.. beautiful, quiet, clean and friendly. Not sure how it would be any better. Definitely on our list to come back. Easy off of highway and online check in a breeze.

They are quick to resolve any maintenance requests & extremely friendly at the office, it’s the kind of place that once you walk in it immediately feels like home. I have been staying here for over a year with my partner and we’ve enjoyed every second of it. The location is super convenient 10 minutes to university & 40 minutes to Montgomery!! We love going to the pool, attending the events, going on walks around the pond and trails, fishing the ponds, and sometimes we will ride bikes around the trails! There is a large selection of lots and if you aren’t happy with where you are the staff is very friendly and quick to move you somewhere more to your enjoyment. They are planning on adding a community garden and we are very excited for it!!! 10/10 place!!

The park is very pretty with two ponds. It is very quiet and all the campers have been very friendly. One of my favorite parts that I found near the end of my semester is that Deer Run has a social room that you can host events or just use the oven. One slight inconvenience is the wifi only really works at the bathhouse.
