Duncanville is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Alabama weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Duncanville.

Me and my husband came here with our dog on a Saturday afternoon. It is beautiful!!! Everyone is very friendly, and the views are awesome 😎. We enjoyed some food from the American deli while eating at a picnic table overlooking the eatery under some much appreciated shade. Come check this gorgeous place out!!! 🥰

Stopped by on way home from a festival. Looks like a great fishing spot! Really neat little dam, would have explored the trails more if time/weather allowed. The primitive camping spots looked awesome, didn't get to see the RV spots much

It is a nice, quiet and peaceful park. It is in serious need of updating. The playground is very old, the toddler swings are made of iron (hot in the summer) and have chipped paint. The playground is also very close to the water. The rowboats and paddleboats look worn out. Bathroom was clean. Great for RV and primitive camping if you want peace and quiet and good fishing. We will be back to check... It is a nice, quiet and peaceful park. It is in serious need of updating. Paul Grist State Park is a hidden gem! One of the best parts of visiting during the week is the peaceful atmosphere and you can almost have the entire park to yourself. It feels like a private retreat away from the noise of daily life. The grounds are beautifully maintained, from the lush, well-kept grass to the clean open spaces that invite you to relax or enjoy a picnic. The lake provides a gorgeous backdrop for fishing or simply sitting and soaking in the scenery. While some of the playground equipment and piers show their age, they are still functional and add a bit of nostalgic charm. What stands out most is the serenity and natural beauty of the park. It’s an ideal place to slow down, recharge, and appreciate the outdoors. If you’re looking for peace, space, and nature at its best, Paul Grist State Park is absolutely worth the visit.
