This place is great! Book in advance because this place stays full. Even with saying that it still has a private feeling to it. It's quiet and has plenty of room to move around. Tent or RV. Boat launch, walking trails, the bathrooms are private with 3 showers. Handicap friendly. There's a laundromat a mile away.

You will find a friendly, informative person greeting you as you come into the park. Straight ahead is the bayou-front campground with 30/50 amp electrical service, water, and a dump station. The campsites are spacious with foliage between for privacy. The bath house is newly refurbished, clean, and beautiful. Inside the campground is access to two different hiking trails and Puddin Head stream for fresh water fishing. In the day use area to your left, there are kayak/SUP self-service rentals right at the waters edge. Nearby is an outdoor shower and a water bowl for your furry friends. Further along you will find a wonderful playground, a pavilion complete with grills, and picnic tables scattered along the waterfront. At several points you will find access to the bayou for swimming/wading and saltwater fishing. The first bathroom is across from the playground. There’s a water bottle filling station and even a water bowl for your pet. Next to this bathhouse is a .75 mile interpretive trail. Continuing down the road in the day use area you will find another pavilion, many more picnic tables, another bathroom, and a double wide, deep water boat ramp. There’s ample parking for your vehicle and trailer.

I always look forward to chatting with the rangers/volunteers because they are so kind, every time! (If you live in Florida and have littles, ask them about the Junior Ranger program) Nature trails are clear of debris and easy to spot. Bathrooms are always clean! The boat launch is far enough away that you don’t have to worry about kids playing in the water near it. Stairs to water access are sturdy! We love looking at the butterfly board Every time we visit! Bonus points for having a water bottle refill station!
