If I could give it six stars I would! The setting is out of this world and the campsites are tucked in among the amazing red rock formations. Each site has a shaded picnic table, charcoal grill and fire ring with water close by. Pit toilets are reasonably clean. Pit toilets are reasonably clean. Still pretty hot in October, but cooler at night so we could open windows and run fans to be comfortable. We just hiked in the morning and evening and napped in the hot part of the day. The park is amazing, plan several days! As always, dogs leashed and picked up after, and leave your campsite cleaner than you found it! There is another campground in the park with RV hookups called Atlatl Rock campground. It is not quite as beautiful, but still lovely and if you need hookups it may be your place!

This is my personal favorite campsite of all time. Site 22 is particularly spectacular, as we were completely tucked away in our own little cove. Visited late October of 2025. We’re big fans of free camping, so we had high expectations after paying the camp site fee + day use fee + online reservation fee + out of state fee + surcharge fee (yes, five items total to reserve one campsite). That said, our expectations were blown away and I can’t give enough praise to this site. Perfect for families with kids who like to climb around. Cons: • There was so much pressure from the on-site water spigot that it shot out horizontally like a fire hose. We had to hold a sponge up to the opening and let it drip into a bucket in order to do dishes. • Too easy to get carried away climbing on all the rocks

In late September still very hot at night. Site 29 was cooler as it wasn’t tucked into the rocks. All beautiful. Water by the site. Pit toilets. You can see the Milky Way but not dark sky because of Las Vegas.

Best campground with the beautiful rock formations. There is no power for your rv and you had solar maybe 6 hrs in December. But a must stay.

We would definitely stay here again! The stargazing at night was incredible as well. No cell service. The site included a tent pad, picnic table with shade, and a fire ring.
