Certain parts of the trail I didn’t need my trekking poles, other parts I was very glad to have them. I wouldn’t attempt this trail on a hike or horseback though, due to all the large loose rocks on the trail. We immediately noticed how shot up everything is out there, and at least for the first part of the trail, gunshots echo out across the area, disturbing the peace. I appreciate the giant parking lot and toilet holes- not a real bathroom but it works in a pinch! Very unfortunate that people can’t respect public property and decide to shoot up the maps, making them hard to read…

Great trail, fairly difficult. Some running creeks and a intermitant water tank to filter water. Theres some good areas to camp along the route. Good 1/2 day backpack teip. Avoid skull mesa trail, poorly maintained and hard to follow, you will probably get lost.

Some great views along the Bronco Trail. I thought it would be a so-so hike, but it turned out to be much more enjoyable than I had hoped.
