About Grand Canyon Camper Village

Campground in Arizona.

Located just minutes from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon Camper Village in Tusayan, Arizona offers an ideal basecamp for one of the world's most spectacular natural wonders. Tusayan sits at the gateway to Grand Canyon National Park, positioning visitors perfectly to experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site without the crowds and higher prices often found within park boundaries.

The Grand Canyon is undoubtedly the main attraction, and staying at this campground gives you convenient access to some of the most breathtaking vistas on Earth. Whether you plan to spend days hiking the rim trails, descending into the canyon itself, or simply watching the light dance across the layered rock formations at sunrise and sunset, having your RV parked nearby means you can maximize your time exploring. The South Rim offers numerous viewpoints, each with its own unique perspective of the canyon's immense scale and geological history. Popular trails range from easy rim walks perfect for families to challenging backcountry routes for experienced hikers.

Beyond the canyon itself, the Tusayan area and surrounding region offer plenty to explore. The town provides essential services and amenities for travelers, including restaurants, shops, and gas stations. The high desert landscape creates a distinctive camping experience with clear night skies ideal for stargazing, far from the light pollution of major cities. Spring and fall offer particularly pleasant weather for outdoor activities, though the area attracts visitors year-round.

The region appeals to a wide range of travelers: families seeking an iconic American road trip destination, outdoor enthusiasts eager for hiking and photography opportunities, retirees exploring the Southwest on extended trips, and adventure seekers drawn by the canyon's world-renowned natural beauty. Even those simply passing through Arizona often find themselves drawn to experience the Grand Canyon's majesty firsthand.

Staying in Tusayan provides a comfortable home base where you can return to your RV to rest, cook meals, and relax after days of exploration. The proximity to the park entrance means less driving time and more time spent taking in the incredible scenery that makes the Grand Canyon one of America's most visited natural attractions.

The location in town and close to the Grand Canyon keep this campground going. The quiet time of 10:00pm-8:00am doesn’t apply to the trash truck that came through and shook the 50 dumpsters like piñatas at 6:40am. The staff was friendly and allowed us to move from a lunar site to one that was partial gravel. We were not given a full hook up site even though several were open our entire stay. N... The staff was friendly and allowed us to move from a lunar site to one that was partial gravel. We were not given a full hook up site even though several were open our entire stay. Not sure what the disconnect was with that. There was a payment issue that is in process of resolution. A general store and plenty of shops are within walking distance. There is a decent trail in the back of the park. We did enjoy the helicopters and airplanes flying by during the day. I would probably stay here again but would try to get inside the park.

This campground is best choice if you want the shops and the Canyon rim in walking distance. Nice trail in the shadow of trees to the rim.The full hook up site was very good and our RV was in the shadows of a tree. The sanitary facilities were under construction so we did not use them. Site Reservation is a must.

Very basic. gravel, minimal grass parking lot with flat sites. Located behind a grocery store. Run down picnic tables, no fire rings. Entrance to Grand Canyon National Park park very close

I was in Tusayan, AZ and stopped by Grand Canyon Camper Village. I inquired on using their washing and dryer since I was camping on state land nearby. "Eric" was working the front desk and was most helpful and accommodating. The property was spacious and clean!! Highly recommend RV travelers to stay here if you're visiting the Grand Canyon or just passing thru.....
