Nestled in the high country of northern Arizona, the North Kaibab Ranger District offers visitors an exceptional gateway to one of the most spectacular natural regions in the American West. Located on the North Rim side of the Grand Canyon, this public campground provides an authentic outdoor experience surrounded by towering ponderosa pines, aspen forests, and breathtaking vistas that change with the seasons.

The North Kaibab area sits at elevation, which means cooler temperatures and crisp mountain air that offers a refreshing escape from the desert heat. This location is particularly special because it remains less crowded than many other Grand Canyon access points, allowing visitors to experience the majesty of the region with a greater sense of solitude and peace. The landscape transitions dramatically throughout the year, from snow-covered meadows in winter to wildflower-dotted clearings in summer, creating a dynamic backdrop for your camping adventure.

For those seeking to explore the Grand Canyon, the North Kaibab Ranger District provides excellent access to the North Rim and numerous hiking trails that showcase the canyon's dramatic geology and color. The area is renowned for exceptional hiking opportunities, ranging from easy nature walks to challenging backcountry routes. Popular trails lead through diverse ecosystems, offering opportunities to encounter wildlife, enjoy panoramic viewpoints, and experience the raw power of the Grand Canyon from unique vantage points.

Beyond the canyon itself, the surrounding Kaibab Plateau offers wonderful opportunities for outdoor recreation. Mountain biking trails, fishing in pristine streams, and wildlife viewing attract visitors throughout the year. The night sky here is particularly impressive, with minimal light pollution creating ideal conditions for stargazing and astronomy enthusiasts.

This campground is perfect for nature lovers, hikers, photographers, and anyone seeking a genuine connection with Arizona's remarkable high country landscape. Whether you're planning a week-long adventure or a weekend getaway, the North Kaibab Ranger District offers the authentic camping experience that makes RV travel so rewarding.

We decided we wanted to see the N rim of the Grand Canyon at the last minute. We called and booked the same day!! This spot is 44 mi from the park, so it's a short drive. Friendly and helpful staff met us at check in to take us to our spot. The sites are close but not like you are sandwiched in. We had full hookups, and there are 2 washers/dryers in the park for a small fee This park is so PEACEFU... We decided we wanted to see the N rim of the Grand Canyon at the last minute. The RV sites were incredibly spacious and very reasonably priced, making it a great value. What really stood out were the resort owners—they were warm, friendly, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a great time playing horseshoes and cornhole right on site, all while soaking in the serene landscape. We loved it so much, we added an extra day just to relax and enjoy it a little longer. The location is also perfect—just a scenic 45-minute drive to the Grand Canyon North Rim. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful, and welcoming place to stay, This RV site is the nearest site with full rv hookups closest the North Rim. I highly recommend Kaibab Camper Village. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here at the end of September in our camper and had an incredible time. The location is beautiful and the staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The campsite was well maintained and clean. Water pressure, electricity and sewer hookups all worked and the entire trip was peaceful and relaxing. If you are towing a camper or driving an RV and want to visit the Grand Canyon North Rim this is the place to stay. The Jacob Lake Inn is nearby with food and other essentials you might need. We will absolutely be back.
