About Verde Ranger District

Located near the geographic center of Arizona, the Verde Ranger District is accessible to visitors from all over the state. Drop a fishing line into the Verde River at one of eight day-use access points or put your canoe in at White Bridge Recreation Area for a popular nine-mile float to Beasley Flat. Explore the site of an old salt mine near Camp Verde, re-create history by following part of General Crook’s military supply route, or book a stay at Sycamore Cabin, which once served as the ranger...

Nestled in the heart of Arizona's stunning Verde Valley, Verde Ranger District offers RV campers an exceptional gateway to some of the state's most pristine natural landscapes. This public campground provides an ideal base for exploring the diverse ecosystems and rich history that characterize this remarkable region of central Arizona.

The Verde Valley area is renowned for its dramatic red rock formations, lush riparian corridors, and remarkable biodiversity. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventure or peaceful relaxation, this location delivers on both fronts. The elevation and landscape create a climate that's often cooler and more comfortable than the surrounding desert areas, making it an excellent escape during warmer months. The surrounding national forest lands provide countless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and wildlife observation.

History enthusiasts will find tremendous value in this location. The Verde Valley is home to fascinating archaeological sites and well-preserved historic ruins that tell the story of ancient Native American civilizations and early Arizona settlement. Several nearby state parks and monuments offer guided tours and interpretive programs that bring these stories to life. The area's mining heritage is also evident in charming small towns nearby, where visitors can explore local culture and enjoy authentic Southwestern hospitality.

Outdoor recreation is abundant year-round. The Verde River itself provides excellent fishing opportunities, while the surrounding trails cater to hikers of all skill levels, from leisurely nature walks to challenging mountain ascents. Birdwatchers flock to the region, as the Verde Valley is recognized as one of Arizona's premier birding destinations, with numerous species throughout the seasons.

The campground serves as a perfect launching point for day trips to popular Arizona attractions while providing a peaceful retreat at night. Local small towns offer dining, shopping, and services, with larger communities within reasonable driving distance for any additional needs. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, outdoor adventurer, or simply seeking solitude in beautiful surroundings, this location provides an authentic Arizona camping experience that keeps visitors returning year after year.

What a wonderful RV resort. We’ve only been here a few days of our months long trip and we’re in love. Everyone has been so kind and polite including the neighbors. You can tell everyone is having a great time and enjoying themselves by the happy demeanors. Spots are large and they’ve got a way to stay for anyone, from big rigs like ours to tents and cabins. The clubhouse is clean and comfortable... What a wonderful RV resort. We’ve only been here a few days of our months long trip and we’re in love. The clubhouse is clean and comfortable with an amazing assortment of entertainment plus a great heated pool and 2 hot tubs! Multiple dog parks A great playground for the kids Pickleball and tennis courts Splash pad and more We’ve been staying outside of Sedona every winter for years and wish we would have come here sooner! Catch us here from now on

We loved staying here for a month in January. The clubhouse, pool, gym, hot tubs, and proximity to the interstate were fantastic. Even the laundry rooms provided ample machines. The team kept everything in good working order and were so accommodating. Propane fills were a breeze and Kevin seemed to be available at all hours to help us with anything we needed, even non-emergency requests.

This place was amazing! We stayed in the wagons, and they are not only super cute but roomy and the beds are super comfortable!! Location is great, everyone we encountered was friendly! 10/10 You can hear traffic at night, which wasn't a big deal to us and there isn't a TV in the wagons, also not a big deal but FYI.
