About Canyon Vista

Federal campground in Arizona.

Nestled in the heart of Arizona's stunning national forest landscape, Canyon Vista offers RV campers an authentic escape into nature's grandeur. This national forest campground provides the perfect base for exploring some of the Southwest's most iconic scenery, where towering pines frame dramatic canyon vistas and miles of hiking trails wind through pristine wilderness.

The location itself is a gateway to outdoor adventure. The surrounding national forest terrain features diverse ecosystems, from dense forested areas to sweeping canyon overlooks that shift in color and character throughout the day. Early morning light painting the canyon walls in shades of gold and crimson is something many visitors consider unforgettable. The area's elevation provides relief during hot Arizona summers, making it an ideal refuge when lower desert elevations become unbearably warm.

For those seeking outdoor recreation, the opportunities are abundant. Hiking enthusiasts will find trails ranging from leisurely nature walks to more challenging backcountry routes. Photographers are drawn to the dramatic geological formations and the interplay of light and shadow across canyon walls. Wildlife watching is rewarding, with opportunities to spot native Arizona fauna in their natural habitat. Fishing opportunities in nearby streams and water features add another dimension to the outdoor experience.

The national forest setting means you're far enough from urban hustle to truly disconnect, yet still within reasonable driving distance of Arizona's major attractions. Whether you're interested in archaeological sites, scenic drives, or simply spending days immersed in natural beauty, the location provides excellent access.

Canyon Vista appeals to a wide range of travelers. Families appreciate the safe, natural environment and educational opportunities about Arizona's ecosystems. Retirees enjoy the peaceful setting and moderate activity options. Serious outdoor enthusiasts find it an excellent jumping-off point for extended wilderness exploration. Photography and nature lovers return season after season to capture the changing landscape and experience the area's quiet majesty.

The national forest environment creates a camping experience that feels worlds away from daily life, yet the thoughtful setup of this campground ensures comfort and convenience. Spending nights surrounded by forest sounds and starlit skies, then waking to fresh mountain air and canyon views, defines the essence of what makes Arizona national forest camping special.

The entire RV Resort is contaminated by a bacteria from either unvaccinated pets or wild life. Several of the people living on the desert feed and water the wildlife. So, they feel welcome here and are in here all the time bringing their diseases and bacteria with them. The sickness was already in here last year. I found many post on the fb pages. We should of been told of this before they took our $6000 non refundable check. We have spent $500 at the Vet. One of our dogs started with severe diarrhea after only being here for 4 days. Then our other dog started vomiting and diarrhea after that. They are still on medication and are still not fully recovered. There are multiple pets sick in here. We are taking our loss for now and will be leaving this mess before our dogs become ill again. This is what our Vet has told us to do. Management does not care and are doing nothing to rectify the situation. They already knew last year about all the sickness. It's all about $$$$ and nothing else. The Manager, Dana told my husband that even if a person dies in the resort that they do not refund any $$$. He tried to blame all the dog sickness in the park on the dogs not being used to Arizona. We live in AZ. Duh.... Stay away from this place in general. All it is is a place for drunks and to spend lots of money. Everything costs extra! After you pay thousands of $$$ to stay at this very mismanaged and unmoral place. If you like to drink all day and line dance this is your place. Don't fall and get hurt while dancing drunk though, because they will not help you or care. They take no responsibility for anything! There are so many vacant lots, casitas, and modular homes, people are catching on and getting out!!

Wonderful camping resort with a ton of things to do or just relax. On the outskirts of PHX so we never realized we were so close to the city .

We took advantage of the fall special and stayed at here for 6 weeks and 2 weeks at Sunflower Resort in Surprise (with the same package). The park was lovely and well-maintained. The park was lovely and well-maintained. We had back-in gravel space to park our rig on, a concrete patio and an additional gravel space for parking our tow vehicle. There is green space within the park and tons of activities. The staff is helpful and friendly, as are the other guests. While there are numerous park models, there are also a variety of spaces for RVs. Attached to Superstition Views, the activities and facilities cover are shared by both parks. We will be back. We were in site 201. We also liked how the park backed up to public land.
