About GENTRY GROUP CAMPGROUND

Federal campground in Arizona.

Nestled in the heart of Arizona's stunning natural landscape, Gentry Group Campground offers RV travelers an authentic forest camping experience away from the hustle and bustle of developed tourist areas. This national forest campground provides a genuine connection to Arizona's diverse ecosystems and outdoor heritage, making it an ideal destination for those seeking peaceful nights under the stars combined with genuine outdoor adventure.

The campground's location within a national forest setting means you're surrounded by native vegetation, towering trees, and the natural beauty that defines Arizona's interior regions. The peaceful atmosphere here attracts visitors year-round, though each season brings its own appeal. Summer offers cooler temperatures typical of forest elevations, while fall brings stunning foliage changes. Winter visitors appreciate the milder conditions compared to lower elevations, and spring showcases wildflower displays and renewal throughout the forest.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding national forest lands provide exceptional opportunities for exploration and recreation. Hiking trails ranging from easy nature walks to more challenging backcountry routes connect through the forest, offering chances to spot native wildlife and enjoy forest vistas. The forest environment supports a rich variety of bird species, making this a wonderful destination for birdwatchers. Fishing opportunities in nearby streams and water features appeal to anglers of all skill levels.

The Arizona forest setting provides a different perspective on the state's geography than desert locations. Rather than canyon vistas and red rock formations, you're immersed in a cooler, greener environment where tall pines, oaks, and other forest species create a refreshing contrast to Arizona's more famous landscape features. This makes Gentry Group particularly appealing to visitors seeking respite from desert heat or those wanting to experience Arizona's full environmental diversity.

Nearby communities provide access to supplies, dining, and services while maintaining the campground's peaceful forest setting. The location works well for travelers exploring Arizona's central regions, whether using it as a base for day trips or a relaxing stopping point on a larger road trip. With its solid 4.3-star rating from experienced campers, Gentry Group Campground delivers the reliable national forest camping experience that RV travelers value.

Hilarious as their border is lined with pipes sunk into the ground and painted the same color as the ground so hard to see. Beware! No damage but took us a while to get off one of the pipes with a side by side. They should paint these yellow or some other stand out color.

5 stars for view and location. 2.5 stars for facilities. There is a lookout tower in the campground. It was closed when we were there so it's unclear if visitors are allowed up.

Scenic. Quiet. No other campers this weekend. We heard Elk bugling, saw deer this morning and enjoyed the full moon from the forest.

Go every year to this campsite. It’s great camping spot with a great lookout. Lots of room for up to 60 people and has a bathroom.

People seem to think if they rent a space they own or rented the entire area. It's nice but could use maybe a shower. Bathrooms were smelly. The road to it used to be not too bad but it's become super bumpy.
