About Trailer Village RV Park - South Rim

Federal campground in Arizona.

Nestled just outside the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Trailer Village RV Park offers an exceptional base for exploring one of America's most iconic natural wonders. Located in Grand Canyon Village, this strategically positioned park puts you within walking distance of the Grand Canyon's most accessible viewpoints and visitor services, making it an ideal choice for RV travelers who want to maximize their time experiencing this magnificent landscape.

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon welcomes nearly five million visitors annually, and for good reason. The sheer scale and majesty of the canyon—stretching 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and plunging over a mile deep—creates an unforgettable visual experience. From the rim, you'll witness layer upon layer of colorful rock formations that tell the geological story of nearly two billion years of Earth's history. Whether you're watching the sunrise paint the canyon walls in golden hues or catching the sunset's dramatic reds and purples, each moment offers something remarkable.

Beyond the iconic rim views, the South Rim offers numerous ways to experience the canyon. Popular viewpoints like Mather Point and Yavapai Point provide accessible locations for photography and contemplation. The rim trails offer varying difficulty levels, from easy paved walks to more challenging hikes along the canyon's edge. For those seeking deeper adventure, the South Kaibab Trail and Bright Angel Trail descend into the canyon itself, offering completely different perspectives of this geological marvel.

Grand Canyon Village serves as the hub for visitor services, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The Grand Canyon Visitor Center provides educational exhibits and ranger programs that deepen your understanding of the canyon's formation and ecology. The village also features historic buildings and museums, including the Grand Canyon Pioneer Museum, which shares stories of the area's past.

This location appeals to a wide range of travelers—families wanting to introduce children to natural wonders, photographers seeking to capture dramatic landscapes, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone simply wanting to stand before one of the world's most awe-inspiring natural features. The combination of accessibility and authentic Grand Canyon experience makes Trailer Village RV Park an excellent choice for your southwestern adventure.

We only stayed one night, but check-in and checkout were easy. The bathroom was clean. We did have to place three blocks of levelers on the front and then we were good. We managed to come the one day out of the year that it snowed, so while there is a shuttle stop right outside the park, we didn’t have a chance to use it. No issues with our power connection. We would stay here again.

Great clean and beautiful. Me and my wife had a wonderful time hiking and eating in the Grand Canyon. Also seen dear , elk and coyotes. Great and friendly staff. We love hiking and look forward to coming back for an overnight hike to the river in the canyon. We stayed at Trailer Village. Great place. We have dinner at every lodge. Excellent food and staff.

We went mid -November. Its a great location to stay right in the park. We had full hook-ups and it was quiet. The elk walked right through the campground which was fun to see. They have a free shuttle.bus that comes every 15 minutes to the front of the park and it takes you to the Village do... We went mid -November. Its a great location to stay right in the park. Trailer Village RV Park is a great place to camp at the Grand Canyon. Restaurants, hikes, groceries, bars, and shuttle services are all in walking distance. The bathhouses are clean and sites well maintained. The South Rim Trail is less than a mile walk from your campsite. We had a great time camping at Trailer Village RV.

Trailer Park Village was amazing close to the southern rim of the Grand Canyon. The staff were amazingly friendly very helpful. They have shuttles that take you to and from the ram makes it easier for someone as myself that is handicapped and cannot walk long distances. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone that wants to see the Grand Canyon Great place great people.
