About Kaibab Camper Village at Jacob Lake

Campground in Arizona.

Nestled in the remote and stunning landscapes of northern Arizona, Kaibab Camper Village at Jacob Lake offers RV travelers a gateway to some of the most breathtaking natural scenery in the American Southwest. This well-positioned campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the unique geological wonders and outdoor adventures that define this corner of Arizona.

The location itself is remarkable, situated at a significant elevation that provides cooler temperatures and crisp mountain air, offering a refreshing escape from the intense desert heat found in lower elevation areas. The surrounding terrain showcases the raw, rugged beauty of the Arizona high country, with expansive views and a genuine sense of remoteness that appeals to travelers seeking authentic outdoor experiences away from crowded tourist destinations.

For those passionate about natural wonders, the proximity to the Grand Canyon's North Rim makes this campground exceptionally valuable. The North Rim presents a dramatically different perspective from the more visited South Rim, offering fewer crowds and a more intimate experience of this iconic landmark. The journey through the Kaibab Plateau provides stunning vistas along the way, with towering ponderosa pines and the distinctive high desert landscape creating unforgettable scenic drives.

Beyond the Grand Canyon, the area offers excellent opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking trails wind through diverse ecosystems, wildlife viewing is abundant with opportunities to spot mule deer and other native species, and photography opportunities abound throughout the changing seasons. The clear night skies in this remote location make stargazing particularly rewarding for those who appreciate the cosmos.

Jacob Lake itself is a historic stop along Arizona State Route 89A, a scenic byway that has connected communities and travelers through this remote region for decades. The area's history is woven into the landscape, and visitors often appreciate the sense of traveling through a part of Arizona that feels less developed and more connected to the region's pioneer heritage.

This campground appeals to RV travelers who value authentic experiences, natural beauty, and a genuine escape from everyday life. Whether you're exploring the North Rim, passing through on a longer Southwest journey, or simply seeking the peace and tranquility of Arizona's high country, Kaibab Camper Village at Jacob Lake provides a practical and comfortable base for unforgettable adventures.

We decided we wanted to see the N rim of the Grand Canyon at the last minute. We called and booked the same day!! This spot is 44 mi from the park, so it's a short drive. Friendly and helpful staff met us at check in to take us to our spot. The sites are close but not like you are sandwiched in. We had full hookups, and there are 2 washers/dryers in the park for a small fee This park is so PEACEFU... We decided we wanted to see the N rim of the Grand Canyon at the last minute. The RV sites were incredibly spacious and very reasonably priced, making it a great value. What really stood out were the resort owners—they were warm, friendly, and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a great time playing horseshoes and cornhole right on site, all while soaking in the serene landscape. We loved it so much, we added an extra day just to relax and enjoy it a little longer. The location is also perfect—just a scenic 45-minute drive to the Grand Canyon North Rim. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful, and welcoming place to stay, This RV site is the nearest site with full rv hookups closest the North Rim. I highly recommend Kaibab Camper Village. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here at the end of September in our camper and had an incredible time. The location is beautiful and the staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The campsite was well maintained and clean. Water pressure, electricity and sewer hookups all worked and the entire trip was peaceful and relaxing. We intend to make this a year site we visit to get away from everyday life. If you are t... We stayed here at the end of September in our camper and had an incredible time. If you are towing a camper or driving an RV and want to visit the Grand Canyon North Rim this is the place to stay. The Jacob Lake Inn is nearby with food and other essentials you might need. We will absolutely be back.

Loved Kiabab Camper Village! Owners/staff are so welcoming. Plenty of hiking available, porta potty in different areas are so clean for tenters or campers without hookups. Total hookup is available on several sites. Thank you, Ellen & and Chris, for your beautiful Camper Village!
