About River RV Park

Campground in Arizona.

River RV Park in Yuma, Arizona offers RV travelers a convenient base for exploring one of the Southwest's most historically rich and agriculturally significant regions. Located at 5625 East County 5 1/2 Street, this park provides easy access to Yuma's unique attractions and the surrounding desert landscape that makes Arizona such a compelling destination.

Yuma has played a fascinating role in American history, from its days as a crucial Colorado River crossing during the Gold Rush to its present status as a major agricultural hub. The town sits in the heart of the Imperial Valley, where year-round sunshine and irrigation have transformed the desert into incredibly productive farmland. This makes Yuma an interesting stop for travelers curious about American agriculture and the ingenious water management systems that sustain it.

The area offers several compelling reasons to spend time here. History enthusiasts will find the Castle Dome Mines Museum particularly captivating, featuring a well-preserved ghost town that transports visitors back to the 1870s mining era. The Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, located nearby, provides excellent opportunities for bird watching and nature photography, especially during migration seasons when hundreds of bird species pass through the region. Those interested in military history will appreciate touring the Marine Corps Air Station or learning about the area's strategic importance during World War II.

Yuma's downtown district features local restaurants and shops where travelers can experience authentic regional cuisine and culture. The surrounding desert landscape provides stunning photo opportunities, especially during sunrise and sunset when the light transforms the sand dunes and distant mountains into a photographer's paradise. Winter visitors particularly appreciate Yuma's mild climate compared to other parts of the country, making it an ideal escape during cold months.

The Colorado River, which flows through the region, offers recreational opportunities for those interested in boating and water activities. The nearby sand dunes attract off-road enthusiasts, while the general accessibility of the area makes it suitable for families, retirees, and adventure seekers alike. Whether you're passing through on a longer journey or planning to stay for an extended winter retreat, River RV Park provides a practical location for experiencing what Yuma and the greater Yuma County area have to offer.

The manager, Rae, was great to deal with—always friendly, always helpful, and full of useful information that made settling in easy. The park itself is incredibly peaceful. Nights are quiet with no train noise, no highway noise, just calm desert air. It’s tucked out in the country, surrounded by date trees and winter green crops, which creates a surprisingly beautiful landscape—especially for the desert. The lots are big, open, and come with full hookups, and the prices are hard to beat. Between the spacious setup, the scenery, and the quiet atmosphere, my stay was comfortable from start to finish. Overall, this spot made my three weeks very enjoyable, and I’d happily stay again.

I am giving the park 5 stars mostly for Rae the manager who is amazing and to help the rating. The park was quiet and peaceful and has a lot of potential. I think it just needs a little more business and some work to help progress the improvements. It will be an unbeatable place to stay. Rae is working hard to make improvements. She knows her stuff and we could that see she is really working hard.... I am giving the park 5 stars mostly for Rae the manager who is amazing and to help the rating. Rae is working hard to make improvements. She knows her stuff and we could that see she is really working hard. You can tell it wasn't this way before she was there. If you're looking for a quiet atmosphere give it a try. The park is like boondocking as far feeling like you are in a remote place. The difference is that you do have hookups. Try it out. You will feel relaxed!

From great staff to a wonderful cool pool. Showers, bathrooms, full laundry facilities. And we just got here so have not explored all that's offered. You'll pay a year at a time but the rate is beyond fair . Level gravel sites with a cement patio pad. Fitting a variety of RV and trailers. Reserve ahead.

I’m not sure about the reviews that were left a week ago and where the people stayed but it definitely was not here. We are asking for a refund. don’t go here or believe their site or other peoples reviews that say this place is nice. We wasted a long trip to go there
