I camped at the View campground in a RV Van. There were no hook ups, which is fine, I had solar power and had stocked up on water before I came, but if you didn't know that, it would be a little more rustic you might be surprised. The guy at the counter was very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms/shower areas were simple and clean. They were also heated which was nice because it was a bit chilly at night. The reason I went there, was not for the bathroom, or the lavish hook ups, it was for the view... and that was spectacular!!! let me tell ya. You are never going to see anything like this anywhere else in the world, and that is worth the price of admission to me.

It does not state online that you cannot have a dog with you in your RV while camping. Drove all the way there for nothing. I’m sure the views are beautiful if you’re camping. I did see the RV sites and they were stacked right next to each other and just a gravel lot. No fires allowed and you will be able to reach out and touch your neighbor, so I we probably dodged a bullet. The views looked epic, but the privacy that you’re going to have in your campsite is zero. I hope your neighbor is a good one 😂. I really wish they would’ve let the public know on their website that dogs are not allowed in your RV. The person at the desk was extremely dismissive and said that I should’ve been aware of it because the hotel doesn’t allow dogs. No refund. That doesn’t make sense to me because hotel rules are way different than campground rules, typically. I made the suggestion that they let it be known on the website so future campers do not have the same experience as me. His reply…“This is tribal land and we make the rules”.. I don’t have a problem with rules, I have a problem with not having the rules be known. I didn’t argue, I just left quietly. Luckily, I found a great campsite at Goulding a few miles away. Phew! . Absolutely beautiful! They were very kind, dog friendly, and epic views as well. I’m at the end of a 2 week road trip and thankfully this is the first negative encounter that I’ve had. Most folks are amazing! Safe travels y’all!

This is the campground at The View Hotel in Monument Valley. On the booking site, the “Campground” option defaults to RV sites, not the tent area, and the entrance was hard to find at first. I saw some people setting up tents in the RV lot, but the views there are poor and blocked by restrooms and buildings. The tent campground is much better, with showers, $50/night (RV $80). I went in mid-September, and the nights were very comfortable around 20°C. If you’re in a tent, make sure you book the right site!

Also people came later than us/much later and got front row cabins. Room was small, did have a/c and a fridge but felt very cramped. Breakfast was free at the hotel but was awful. One of those places where once you seen it, saw the sun set and rise and drive the trail you don't really ever need to go back. Suppose it's different strokes for different folks but didn't get the friendliest vibes from anyone here.

Clearly, this campground is relying entirely on the (exceptional) view, because the rest is quite frankly awful for the price. There’s only one working toilet for men and two tiny showers, one of which doesn’t even have a hook for hanging clothes or a towel. The whole building looks like it hasn’t been maintained in years. The tent area is just a small patch of sand. Strangely, motorhome pitches... The tent area is just a small patch of sand. Strangely, motorhome pitches come with their own tables (even though motorhomes are the least in need of one), while people with tents have absolutely nowhere to eat or prepare food. I also still haven’t managed to find the drinking water faucet. Staff is the least friendly I’ve encountered so far. We were four tents and somehow decided to cramp us all together instead of scattering us around the campground. If it weren’t for the view, this campground would be absolutely terrible. Good enough for just one night.
