I used to live in Malibu years ago and had never once come up here. We decided to give it a go because it was breaking up our trip from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, AND I wanted to see with my own two eyes the effects of the Malibu fire. First let me say our spot (XL spot J-K) is dreamy. It's one of a dozen (maybe less) spots on the upper terrace and the road into this area is a dead end. If you're in a large rig, be sure to get here before dark. We are fairly experienced at parking our 31-ft rig however it was a bit awkward and slightly stressful. All in all we got into the spot and now we're very happy to be on this row because no one comes down here unless their spot is here. All this said, we immediately decided to stay an extra night because it took some maneuvering to get into the spot. Very quiet. We happen to be next to the Camp Host, Scott, and his wife. They're in a '04 Newmar Dutch Star and are clearly settled in. He is very helpful and friendly. This is the first day of our roadtrip that neither of us wanted to explore or leave the site. We've been lucky with weather and the views are unparalleled. Malibu truly is a jewel. These XL spots are running $160/night (Feb) and that feels worth it because the views, the calm and quiet are worth it. Lots of trails that access you to Corral Canyon hike, a moderate 2.5 mile hike and various trails around the campsite, including one leading to Malibu Seafood. You get a discount if you eat there. We took our dogs down that trail then crossed PCH (be careful!) over to the beach and let the dogs run around for 30 minutes or so. Their website is very informative, including prices for nightly and longer term. I would definitely spend the $ to stay here for a month. Very quiet and mellow. When we arrived the staff was very welcoming. One of the guys came outdoors, elbows on the wooden ledge to point out trails, the best way to approach our site, etc. Fun and cute stuff in their Surf Outpost Market. Completely relaxing and an excellent taste and vibe of the Malibu lifestyle.

Great place to stay. Amazing view! We got a free upgrade to a place with seaview for our one night stay, thans for that! Facilities are excellent and clean. Very nice that there is a store with supplies (and alcoholic drinks) for friendly prices. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for over a month; I honestly cannot fault the time we spent here. Site V13 was the largest - enough for our 43’ fifth wheel and our F350, with plenty of room around the side for tables and chairs. Thanks for having us, we will be back.
