So i have mixed feelings about this campsite. I am a local and have been wanting to camp here awhile because of all the rocks and boulders and proximity to the lake. Don’t Waste Your Money Here! The camp host was incredibly rude and unwelcoming from the moment we arrived. Instead of a simple “hello,” we were immediately barked at with “CASH OR CHECK?!” even though we had already made reservations online. When I mentioned our reservation, she sarcastically mocked me saying, “You should have said that”—even though we had just arrived and hadn’t been given a chance to explain. The bathrooms were in terrible condition: no soap, leaking toilets, and showers that didn’t work at all. The lake itself could’ve been nice, but it was littered with glass shards—seriously dangerous. You absolutely need to wear shoes in the water. For how much they charge ($80 for two nights), this place is absolutely not worth it. I’ve stayed at many free campsites that were 100 times better maintained and more welcoming. Save your time and money—camp elsewhere!

It would of been a more enjoyable camp for me if there were more shade to cover us from the sun. Also there has been many complaints about the showers not working for years. It's still the same showers don't work so bring a bucket and find a spot to rinse your self. Never camping again in the summer again it was extremely hot and there are not alot of trees for shade here at boulder gulch. One mo...
