Primitive campground. I stay here when I want to get an early start on nearby trailheads into the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Bring your own water and insect repellant. There is an easy trail along a pretty creek from the campground to the Fernandez Trailhead. The ranger station is right near the campground to obtain overnight wilderness permits.

In low snow years this campground WILL be swarming with gnats and mosquitos. The trees here are dying at an alarming rate as well (bark beetles). That said, come later in the season on high snow years and you should be good to go. The campgrounds are primitive. It's a remote site. That's a good thing.
