Didn’t camp, just went to the day use area for a picnic lunch and a nice hike after. Didn’t see any people other than another truck we passed on the way in. Very quiet and peaceful. Saw minimal wildlife but did see a bald eagle hovering above the lake and it dove down to snag a fish. Beautiful lake and lots of picnic tables.

I was originally bringing my dogs with me to hike on the trail, but then we saw the day use area. The lake is gorgeous! We went into the water and played for a while. The lake seemed fairly shallow for a pretty decent distance. Unsure when/where it gets deep at. I turned to look at the campground, and we saw the beautiful mountain peak of Mount McLaughlin. It was completely unexpected as I did not... I was originally bringing my dogs with me to hike on the trail, but then we saw the day use area. The lake is gorgeous! Once you get over the 6 miles of washboard road at 5 mph, the lake and surrounding area make the drive worth it! Our camp site was right near the water, with a perfect view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The camp hosts are wonderful people and very knowledgeable about the area.

Excellent horseback riding. There are plenty of side with stalls for the horse. Plenty of room for trailers as well. The views and riding are stunning!

Dry, windy, and surrounded by dead trees. Sites 29 and 30 are right by the boat ramp; we were woken up everyday at 6am with boats driving in. Most of the trees at our site were cut out and the remaining 100ft trees drastically sway in the wind... only a matter of time before they fall. We didn't have to bring firewood, just cut up some of the surrounding. As of writing this, you are allowed to come in and cut your own trees if you are nearby.

For the type of camping we do it was awesome. River was full of fish but water was fast and hard to pull larger fish out of current with an ultra lite outfit. Use a little heavier pole with slightly heavier line.
