About Heart Bar Campground

Campground in California.

Heart Bar Campground offers a peaceful mountain escape in the heart of California's scenic high country. Nestled at elevation, this public campground provides a genuine connection to nature for RV travelers seeking a retreat from everyday life. The surrounding landscape features towering pines, crisp mountain air, and the kind of starry nights that remind you why camping under the open sky never goes out of style.

The location makes it an ideal base for exploring some of California's most beautiful wilderness areas. Nearby hiking trails range from leisurely walks to more challenging day hikes, offering something for every fitness level and interest. The campground's proximity to natural attractions means you can spend your days discovering scenic vistas, alpine meadows, and pristine forests without traveling far from your RV. Photography enthusiasts will find endless opportunities to capture the region's natural beauty, especially during sunrise and sunset when the mountains take on golden hues.

The cooler mountain temperatures make Heart Bar Campground particularly appealing during warmer months when lower elevation areas become uncomfortably hot. The public campground setting ensures an authentic camping experience without commercial frills, allowing you to focus on what matters most: time in nature with family and friends. We loved the few days we spent here camping,we're a family of 5 and had plenty of space to ourselves and away from other campers at site 14. Our site had a bear box, fire ring and picnic table. Great experience and campground with lots of shade with alot of trees for your hammock and space for a large tent. We will Definitely be going back.

Felt like e had the open forest behind us, we got lucky with the spot! Nice hosts! Definitely would do back! ♥️ P.S. We were there for only Saturday and Sunday morning bur couldn't go to the restroom once. It was disgusting but oh well, that's camping!

Great campground. Lots of open space around the campsite we booked and we did not encounter any issues. There was a picnic table, a fire pit/ring with a grate on one side, and a bear box. Toilets did not have running water, but there was a water spigot nearby. Some highway noise in the distance but otherwise quiet and beautiful forest setting. Some interesting hiking trails nearby that you can get... Great campground. Lots of open space around the campsite we booked and we did not encounter any issues. Some interesting hiking trails nearby that you can get to from the camp site as well (Aspen Grove Trail and Fish Creek Trail).
