First time camping and going somewhat off road. If you’re worried about your vehicle making it up we saw a tesla and a nissan altima up there. My subaru made it up perfectly. South road is somewhat rough and the north road seems to be the smoother but longer road. Clean area, can be busy 2 other campers showed up quietly while I was asleep but kept their distance. Very beautiful and quiet, can be extremely cold at night and morning so be prepared!

One of the most beautiful campgrounds I’ve been to. We had a great view of the lake, I also work online and my star link had amazing service. It was quiet at night and the stars looked beautiful. The sunset and sunrise were also amazing. The road up is a little rough but after the first mile it gets less rough. We did hear a couple of gun shots but other than that very positive vibes.

This is a nice area for disperse camping. I drove up from the south. Road is steep with curves. Once you past the vineyard, it is 5.5 miles of dirt, dusty roads. You will past an abandoned RV on the left as you get closer, less than 1 mile to campsites. Plenty of flat areas to pitch a tent. Watch out for dead standing trees. No mosquitoes during my stay there. I did see a black bear in the mornin... This is a nice area for disperse camping. I drove up from the south. Road is steep with curves. The bear was startled and quickly scuttled away towards the lake side, down the hill.

Nice site. Unfortunately the homeless person in the grey sedan thinks our national forest is their own personal garbage dump.

3/7/026 Very nice campground. Pretty close to the lake, some spots are closer to others while some are farther away. Nice bathrooms and after 9pm campground was very quiet. Lots of wildlife within the campground, also very green in early march.

10/18/2025 much improved campground for a more friendly family campsite. Hope the staff keeps an attentive attention to drunk boaters on and off the water. Great location for hiking
