Whether you're looking to fish in the lake, take leisurely walks around the grounds, or simply unwind in a quiet natural setting, this campground delivers an authentic California countryside experience.

San Juan Bautista itself is a destination worth exploring. The town is home to one of California's most well-preserved Spanish missions, the San Juan Bautista Mission, which stands as a fascinating historical landmark dating back to 1797. The area is also known for its wine production, with numerous wineries and tasting rooms scattered throughout the valleys.

Amazing fishing lake, especially after plants! Worth the cost, great place to learn to fish for trout, would highly recommend to do some research on what to use prior like light line and small hooks! Unfortunately older guy with beard at front desk is quite rude.

Super trashy place for how expensive it is. The staff were going around setting off fire crackers for fun. Which scared my kids enough to make them want to leave. There were kids behind the trailer they are living in not being supervised with a whole thing of lighter fluid and told my daughter they were going to make a fire. My family and I walked in and weren't even greeted. The old man in the front stated that to be able to enter the property was a total charge of $40 per person and that anything caught over 4lbs was $10 charge per pound. That is ridiculous as the state license fishing fee for a year is $62.00. Its astonishing the greed that these people have. The only good thing I can say about this place is the e... Horrible experience for my first time here, and very angry management. He then berated me for 2 full minutes about “who gave you permission to be here” and “how did you get down here” while I continuously apologized for the misunderstanding. I explained it was my first time here and I’m not from the area. 2 full minutes of berating before finally telling me that fishing is only open from Friday-Monday. All that….just to tell me they were closed for fishing for the day. It’s not like I snuck in and stole anything. The park was wide open, and I parked my truck and grabbed my gear, only to be stopped and lectured by a man on a tiny power trip over the rules of his tiny RV kingdom. It was my first time trying to fish this spot, and I won’t be going back. $40 a day to fish is insane anyways, especially when there’s a trout stream a few miles up the road with steelhead. If the owner responds to this with some self righteous “well, this is actually what happened”, don’t believe it. This was a terrible experience and I DO NOT recommend taking your friends or family here to this run-down RV park with its angry Santa Clause manager.
