Arnold is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

This is one of the best camping grounds I have been. You literally stay inside the redwoods. Clean bathrooms. Awesome campsites. Very close to the beach, so you can do a camp fire on the beach, enjoy fireworks on 4th of July. Crescent City is near by so food is sorted out, very awesome place. Must visit once.

The park was well maintained by caring staff members in a beautiful setting. Although it was not a problem there is no power at RV size camping spots and lights/generators out at 8pm....which was not a problem because the temperature beneath the canopy was quite mild. If the Redwoods are on tour bucket list, I highly recommend a visit to Mill Creek Campground.

I want to tell you this place sucks so you won't go... There are bears in the area so food must be stored in a vehicle OR the bear box. The rangers will ticket for not properly storing food. (I have never seen a bear here). The sites are mostly great but there are definitely a few that are only suitable for campers/motorhomes (as opposed to tents). There are coin operated showers, flush toilets and the other campers all seem to be respectful every time I'm here (not too loud, etc). While there a loop trail in the campground, you are conveniently located 15 min from Crescent City, 45 min from Prairie Creek, and 20-25 min from Jedediah Smith.

Compared to more coastal areas, which can be very cold, this is a very temperate location in late May. Pleasant mornings and pleasant evenings. The camp host doesn't make any rounds in the evening to enforce quiet time and goes to bed early. When we showed up around 10pm, two groups next to us were loudly partying until midnight. They would have partied longer, but I had to become the rule enforcer and approach these groups, putting on my 'authority' mentality and act like I was in charge in order to get them to quiet down. The camp sites are spaced together closely and you'll hear everyone camping around you. Church youth groups up at 6AM yelling and making noise like usual. Fire rings are raised instead of recessed, which makes it harder to keep your lower body warm. Otherwise, this is a great campground. I just wish the host did their job in the evenings. Avoid it on holiday weekends if you value the quietness of the woods. No cell signal unless you drive 10-15 minutes - I love this, but be warned that you're going to be off the grid.

Stayed here for 1 night & was not disappointed! It was beautiful. Only issue was at night, our neighbors diagonal from us were arguing, partying & very loud until about 1am. I heard other people shhhing them but no settling until then, it was a bit annoying. We tent camped & had no issue backing into our spot. Fire pit with grate. Bathrooms were clean & easily accessible from our spot. LOTS of mo... Stayed here for 1 night & was not disappointed! It was beautiful.
