Millwood OHV Staging Area offers a unique camping experience for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers seeking direct access to some of California's most exciting trail systems. Located in a scenic region known for diverse terrain and natural beauty, this public campground serves as the perfect basecamp for those eager to explore challenging trails and expansive wilderness areas. The staging area is thoughtfully designed to accommodate RVs and campers while providing convenient access to an extensive network of off-road routes that range from beginner-friendly paths to advanced technical trails.

The surrounding landscape presents a dynamic mix of forest, scrubland, and open terrain that changes dramatically with the seasons. Spring brings wildflower displays and comfortable temperatures, summer offers long daylight hours for extended riding adventures, fall showcases golden hillsides and cooler conditions ideal for active exploration, and winter transforms the area into a quieter retreat with its own natural appeal. For those not focused solely on off-road activities, the region offers hiking opportunities, photography prospects, and peaceful nature observation in a less-crowded setting than many California campgrounds.

The campground itself is strategically positioned to serve as a launching point for your OHV adventures while providing a comfortable place to rest and refuel between excursions. This makes it an ideal choice for serious off-road enthusiasts, families introducing younger members to trail riding, and groups planning extended backcountry exploration. The area attracts a diverse camping community including motorcycle riders, ATV enthusiasts, UTV drivers, and four-wheel drive vehicle owners. Whether you're spending a weekend tackling local trails or using the staging area as a multi-week base for exploring California's broader OHV recreation network, Millwood provides essential facilities in a location that takes the work out of finding your next great adventure. The combination of accessible trailheads, natural surroundings, and fellow riders creates an authentic outdoor community experience.

Extraordinary campground with an amazing atmosphere and great camp hosts! The yurts are comfortable and spacious. The gift shop is a great spot to grab a few camp necessities and unique trinkets. A new pit toilet was recently installed and it's well designed. For individuals who need ADA wheelchair access: Some of the yurt ramps need a little improvement so that the ramp base fully touches the ground for smooth wheelchair access. Contact ahead of time to ensure the accessibility meets your needs. I think yurt site 2 is the best for wheelchair access ( which is already marked for ADA). The Trail of 100 Giants across the street is fantastic for wheelchair access as well. Highly recommend! Hope y'all have fun out there!

As frequent visitors to Trail of 100 Giants, we always stop by the Redwood Meadow Campground. Darin and his wife Michell are great hosts and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. If you are lucky enough to be in the area make sure and say hello to a couple of Sequoias nicest people.

This place is amazing! The camp host and his wife are the best!!! They are very friendly and make everyone feel welcome. The host was very knowledgeable, explained everything throughly, and answered any questions we had. We felt really safe in this campground. We truly loved this place will definitely keep going back.

We won’t Be back or recommend this campground
