Great spot to camp on a budget. It was only 25 bucks and 10 to park. It's very close to the city although it is very close to other campers. I would recommend that you come slightly early in the afternoon to get a spot. It was peaceful but kinda weird during the day with all the foot traffic. We were at campsite 16 (2nd best spot). 7/10

The campground is great if you're looking for a cheap spot to camp that is centrally location on Mt Tam, but be sure to book far in advance because it is pretty much always packed, but you *can* try to come in the early afternoon to snag a spot. There's a lot of foot traffic during the day. The best part is the access you have to the bonkers amazing trail network on Mount Tam.

A simple but well-positioned campsite with about 15 sites. Car park gets busy with day-walkers, day-runners and day-bikers, but it's quite at night and super atmospheric in the mist! Beware if you're bike-packing in the final climbs are killer on a loaded bike after a long day! But you can get here from SF in an easily doable day.

Great easy camping spot close to the city. Fun with little kids or first time campers to ease them in or a quick getaway when you don’t want to travel and hike.
