Trinidad is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

This place is a great location for the Trinidad area or as a base for seeing Redwoods NP/SP. Penn Creek is tent only and a smaller loop. There’s plenty of taps around the campground and a showers/toilets building. Each campsite has a fire pit and a bear box too. The sites are fairly spacious as well. We loved the location and the nearby trails in Sue-Meg, the little plant garden trail was so nice... This place is a great location for the Trinidad area or as a base for seeing Redwoods NP/SP. Penn Creek was the best campground experience we've had. Each campsite was private and beautiful, and the facilities were excellent. A short hike from the campsite provided the most spectacular views of the CA coast at sunset. I can speak highly of our campsite, 007 for having a cute bridge over a little creek. Highly recommend!

I stayed here this past September while on a moto trip up the coast. What a lovely place to spend a night. Great campground with gorgeous coastal walks and views.

Trans and family friendly. Also has lots of first-come first-serve sites, great for travelling without reservations near the redwoods. The Penn campground has single-person, gender-neutral bathrooms and showers. Such a small change makes it so much easier for those who need it. Other bathrooms at the campground are traditional shared bathrooms. Campsite are great overall. Agate Beach is nice:... Trans and family friendly. I love camping in this area. This SP has quite a few easy to access views and trails, and a Yurok village to check out.
