I just got back from a women’s retreat and loved the experience! It was a hot August weekend but the camp has lots of shade. Restrooms and showers were clean! We rafted on day one and it was so much fun! The water was cool and refreshing. Don’t forget your drinking water and sun block! I recommend a comfort camping chair for the evenings or hanging out around camp. Your back will thank you. Day... I just got back from a women’s retreat and loved the experience! Day 2 we went canyoneering which was a combo of hiking on land and traversing through a river. Again, the water was so refreshing on a hot day! The leaders brought a nice lunch and we had plenty of water. It was such a fun and exhausting (but in the best way!) weekend. We had a group of ladies from 35-70 years old. There was fear and discomfort and excitement and pride as we stretched our minds and bodies and put our trust in God. I can’t wait til next year and to invite more friends.

This camp is so amazing. They are excited to be with the kids, they make everyone feel so loved, engaged and welcome. Relating nature to the kids relationship with God, teaching them to unplug and engage. Push themselves, take risks within safe boundaries. I think every student should have the opportunity to experience this.

Gwen's status as "the best" river guide is built upon a foundation of profound technical skill and an instinctual connection to the water. The river is her domain, and she navigates its moods, currents, and challenges with flawless execution and quiet authority. Where others see only churning whitewater, Gwen perceives the precise, safe line, instilling an unshakeable confidence in every passenger... Gwen's status as "the best" river guide is built upon a foundation of profound technical skill and an instinctual connection to the water. The river is her domain, and she navigates its moods, currents, and challenges with flawless execution and quiet authority. Where others see only churning whitewater, Gwen perceives the precise, safe line, instilling an unshakeable confidence in every passenger, regardless of their experience. This mastery transforms the mere act of running rapids into a seamless, thrilling dance. It is this core competence that serves as the bedrock for all the other exceptional qualities she brings to her leadership role on the water. Beyond technical skill, Gwen’s true brilliance lies in her vocation as a Christian leader, extending her role from a simple guide to a steward of faith and creation. She views the wild river not merely as a resource, but as a testament to the powerful hand of a Creator, an attitude that shapes her interactions and her profound respect for the environment. This belief system is manifested in a deep commitment to servant leadership on the raft. The small community aboard her vessel, whether for a day or a week, operates on the Christian principles of hospitality, patience, and non-judgmental encouragement. She is meticulous in ensuring that every guest feels valued, heard, and supported, physically and spiritually. This spiritual grounding translates directly into Gwen's absolute commitment to safety, rooted in the Christian duty to care for one’s neighbor. The calm she exudes when navigating a treacherous rapid is not bravado, but a composed confidence born of meticulous preparation, deep experience, and a reliable moral compass. Furthermore, her storytelling and interaction with guests are layered with this compassionate perspective. She might interweave local legends and geological facts with moments of deeper reflection—perhaps a scripture that speaks to the journey of life or the overwhelming power of nature. This is how she transforms the trip into a multi-layered experience, engaging the intellect, thrilling the body, and nourishing the spirit. Ultimately, Gwen’s legacy as the best guide is measured by the transformative impact she leaves on her passengers. She doesn't just deliver people to the takeout; she empowers them with a renewed sense of strength, connection, and appreciation for the wild world and its Creator. She is the architect of a pivotal adventure, a river journey that is challenging yet safe, exhilarating yet deeply meaningful. Gwen, the master of the current, the devoted Christian leader, and the keeper of the collective spirit, proves that the greatest guides are those who unlock the magic and the deeper purpose of the river for everyone aboard their craft.
