Nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, San Jacinto River North Fork offers a truly authentic wilderness camping experience along one of California's designated Wild and Scenic Rivers. This public campground provides an ideal setting for RV travelers seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and immerse themselves in pristine natural beauty.

The San Jacinto River North Fork is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic canyon walls, and abundant wildlife. The river corridor creates a lush, verdant environment where cottonwoods and alders frame the waterway, offering shade and a sense of tranquility that's increasingly rare in modern travel. Whether you're parked at your RV site or exploring the immediate surroundings, you'll be struck by the river's gentle yet powerful presence and the symphony of natural sounds that accompanies day and night.

This location is particularly appealing for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy fly fishing, hiking, and nature photography. The North Fork section of the river is known for its healthy trout population, making it a destination for anglers of varying skill levels. Multiple trail systems in the area provide opportunities for day hikes ranging from easy riverside walks to more challenging mountain ascents. The elevation and forest cover create comfortable temperatures even during warmer months, making this an excellent year-round destination.

The region's natural heritage is significant, as the Wild and Scenic River designation reflects federal protection of the area's ecological and recreational values. This means you're camping in a place recognized for its outstanding natural and cultural qualities. The river serves as both a recreational playground and an important ecosystem that supports native species and maintains the health of the broader watershed.

Nearby communities provide access to supplies and services, while the campground itself offers a gateway to exploring the broader San Jacinto Mountains region. Hikers can venture to higher elevations to experience alpine meadows and panoramic vistas, while those preferring to stay close to the river can enjoy the soothing effects of moving water and riparian habitat. Photographers will find endless subjects in the interplay of light through the forest canopy and the reflections on the river's surface.

This is ideal for RV travelers seeking solitude and natural beauty, families wanting to introduce children to wilderness camping, and anyone looking to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the outdoors.

Been coming up here for since I was a kid and the area never disappoints. Great fishing, great people. I would have to commend Camp Host Larry for being friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We hope to see him host for years to come!

Many thanks and salutations to North Fork Campground hosts "Ron & Sharon" for a delightful mid-July 2019 4-nite stay at the North Fork Campground. 21 sites, 4 with electrical hookup, sites 1 - 4. Their hard work and dedication maintains a PET-FRIENDLY, FAMILY ORIENTED campground for all visitors. CLEAN HOT SHOWERS, 8-quarters for 4-minutes, and also CLEAN REST ROOMS.

Lovely spot. Thankful to have found a place to camp . . . COVID has so many people retreating into the wilderness. This place had many available spots unlike some of the surrounding areas.

It's a little oasis in the middle of a lot of burned trees. Camp sites are nice but nothing to do unless you drive somewhere. Water was flowing too fast and too inaccessible to be a good place to have any water fun.
