Not the best place for tent camping. Spent 3 nights here. 2 sites were $400 seems kinda high. Great lake and near endless trails!!! That was a positive. The huge negative was the bear activity. Final conclusion is we probably won't go back!

I recommend off-season since you are more likely to snag a waterfront campsite and not have too many neighbors. The waterfront campsites are absolutely amazing. The view is gorgeous and convenient if you like to swim or have water toys. We enjoyed paddle boarding, fishing having bbqs, and smores. It's really nice to have direct access to the lake it saves you having to travel down to the day use area where parking can be limited. There are clean bathrooms and hot showers.

Waters are muddy, quick sand-ish, restrooms are far few and require a nice hike to find. Not a lot of shade along the lake waters.

Nice place to camp, we saw a small bear roaming at night so put your food away. The Lake is nice and blue, you'll have to drive to lake access unless your campsite is at gate 2. Each camp has a fill and dump station for your RV trailer. There are bathrooms and showers available for tent camping as well.
