Sweet little spot for overnight camping on a road trip. One squatter in the back. Nice views on the historical trail. Good fishing! Train blows whistle every time it passes, day or night; otherwise I’d give it 4 ⭐️.

It would be such a lovely camp site if it weren't for the trains running all night. Another review said they didn't run that much but it's not true. Seriously, they went by at 11pm, three trains at 1am, another at 3am, two at 5am and another at 8am. And the rumbling wouldn't be so bad but it's the sounding of the alarm several times as they pass. Road noise wasn't bad despite being only a mile off the road (to note, we were staying in a camper van with good insulation). . Otherwise, it's so lovely with the sounds of the river. Spaces are large and with good separation for privacy. Flush toilets plus a sink. Great spot for fishermen. Only one picnic table is available for non-campers if you wanted to come for the day and avoid the night trains. We were there on a Saturday night in October. Able to drive in later in the day and still get a spot.

Beautiful scenery... however... the Grounds Host ruined my family's experience by walking up my car at 9pm at night and began hitting the hood of my car with his cain/garbage graber and began yelling "You can't park here!" He left 3 large scratches on my hood. We were not being loud, we were respectful, but most of all, we were shocked by the Grounds Host's actions. Im not sure if he was drunk or on drugs but I dont see how someone can get so mad about a parked car (in a spot that looks like a parking spot. See pics)! The next morning I was talking to other fellow campers and was told the the day prior, the Grounds Host was going to each campground demanding they give him the money for the camp site and not to put it in the green drop box! Little suspicious if you ask me!

Stayed outside the gate as it was closed for winter. CG is not largely developed, but right on the river and beautiful views, needs some maintenance. Bridge over river is a work of CCC art. Super fun history and definitely worth returning to. Nicely positioned a ways from I5, but convenient.

Nice campground, lots of shades, flush toilets and water spigots. Next to river and a historic walking trail. Be aware of opportunistic bandits!!! We got our chair stolen while I was inside my camper.
