Great place to camp, easy accessible to beach for beautiful sunset. Unfortunately the campsite which i had booked lacked food locker, due to which we had to leave food packs on the table which attracted bear or racoon no idea, but morning when we came out of campsite it was a mess. Had to cleanup all these. If authorities could take action and install the food storage unit in campsite 18 that would make camping experience great. Nevertheless amazing place and would love to camp again in future. Hopefully to get a campsite with proper locker.

My family and I went to Sunset Beach for my birthday getaway. We we're thoroughly impressed. Great location, really beautiful campground. The biggest negative was the raccoons are out of control. Put your stuff away and secure. The boxes provided are not enough. I wedged, firewood against the box doors to keep them out and that worked. But we still had a great time. We laughed our butts off, and there are truly bigger problems in life. We highly recommend Sunset State Beach. We left with great memories.
