Such a beautiful hike. Definitely hard with plenty of incline and the decline is not any easier. But it your looking to get up to some rewarding hikes, this one is great! I went late April, and the lupin flowers were growing all over. Plenty of turkey vultures out flying around as well. If you have walking poles, I highly recommend bringing them, as well as a few liters of water.

Challenging hike. Trees are at the top for hammock camping if needed. Overall amazing well maintained trail with a steller view the whole way up.

Gorgeous place to camp and watch the sunset and sunrise. Very accommodating campground big enough for large groups and horses. There's a cistern here but I was unable to access any water. Pack it in.

Hiked up to timber top, total elevation change of 2500 ft from highway 1. Took about 4 hours round trip and looks like a great spot for hiking.
