This place is pretty great although the sights are very close together and only a small access down at the creek to cool off. It was very crowded and 110°. The campground currently does not have water so that's something to keep in mind. Very remote place and a good stop to spend the night if you're looking for somewhere to crash. Also a good point to stay if rafting or kayaking the river.

Really great place. The creek running through is easy to get to. Great swimming areas where you can climb up walls and jump in. Secluded areas of you're up for a tiny bit of adventure to find them. But definitely beware of animals at night. We heard quite a few! Put food away and stay in your tent!

Access to the river is there, but not great. There is no camp host, although US forestry does drive through a couple times a day. There is water, but make sure you bring your own wood. Overall, not a bad campsite, but with no camp host, if there are other rowdy campers there's not much you can do.

Great little campground with a FANTASTIC swimming hole! We just got back today (7/22/18). The four stars was for no drinking water. We arrived at Dillon Creek Campground to find there was no drinking water. We were on motorcycles and had minimal water. LUCKILY...I had my Katadyn filter for emergencies. We were able to fill my 500ml Camelback and make several trips down to the river for water. Just be aware that there is NO WATER at the campground. Bring your own. We made the reservation on 1/27/18. The no water notice came out in May. It would have been nice to receive an email notifying anyone who made reservations prior to May that there was no water. Oh well, still an awesome spot, just could have been a disaster if we didn't have our filter.

Pretty good, basic facilities. Campsites are spread far enough apart we didn't hear much from the other campers. The nearby creek does a good job of masking sound. Dark skies - definitely go for a night walk. The Milky Way is obvious and we saw 3 moons of Jupiter with 8x binoculars. There's a lot of poison oak growing in the campsites, watch yourselves. There's a lot of poison oak growing in the campsites, watch yourselves. Mosquitos were *thick* for an hour or two around dusk and up to about 10:00 AM. (end of June) Not much of a problem apart from that. The swimming hole is across the Klamath River Highway in the river itself. You'll see a path down from the big dirt area directly across from the campground entrance. Although rivers can be dangerous, you'd have to try to get in trouble in this spot. We had no problem with the campground water at the end of June, 2019. Watch for ants in the outhouses after dark. There's a nocturnal species that seems drawn to toilet paper. :o Cellphone coverage available 20 miles north starting 2 miles short of Happy Camp. You'll see the cell tower from the highway. Groceries and a deli open in Happy Camp. There's a fine, hippy-oriented grocery store called Salmon River Outpost at Somes Bar, where the Salmon River Road hits the highway. 5/5 puts some organic oriented stores in big cities to shame.
