South Lake Tahoe is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
California weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for South Lake Tahoe.
Don't miss local attractions near South Lake Tahoe. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

This is such a beautiful spot! The campground is at the end of the road past all of the other blue lakes campgrounds. It has 32 spots 9 of which are first come first serve. During the week it is not too busy but can get quite full on the weekends. There are vault toilets that were very clean. It is $23 a night with no hookups but there are water spigots around! It is $23 a night with no hookups but there are water spigots around! Pets are $2 a night. Very close to the lake, hiking, and off road trails. Campsites all have fire pits, bear boxes, and picnic tables. There are bears! So be careful! Definitely some fickle fish in the lake, some people have luck but we didn't! Highly recommend this amazing campground!

Sorry for the terrible photo but I wasn’t there to take pictures, so…. Beautiful campground. Clean, quiet and fairly remote. Easy dirt road getting in. This campground isn’t built for the huge, house sized monstrosity RVs so don’t try bringing one of those here. You won’t make it. Sites are huge and private but NOT level at all, so bring stuff to level your camper. All in all one of my favorite... Sorry for the terrible photo but I wasn’t there to take pictures, so…. This campground is amazingly beautiful, calm and peaceful. And it's clean and we'll maintained. The campground hosts are fantastic. Upper Blue Lake is just through the trees. Depending on your level of fitness you might get a little short of breath just walking around.

Beautiful place to camp, the maintenance is excellent, the hosts are incredibly friendly, I forgot the marshmallows for my daughters and they kindly gave us some. Also, due to the weather, we couldn't make a wood fire and they offered us their gas fire pit, Thank you for helping my family have an incredible weekend.

This is by far the best RV park I've stayed at. I've been all over the western US and this place is a little slice of heaven. The dog park is huge and great and well kept. The spaces are nice and wide. you're not jammed in next to your neighbor. The lake is great for paddleboarding. It's a very family friendly park. They have am area with Cornhole boards set up and well kept hangout areas. There is a volleyball net in the dog park.. it's really a wonderful place and I have nothing but great things to say. I left this morning, but think I'll go back for another week because it's just a perfect slice heaven.

Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and an air conditioned tent/yurt made for a pleasant weekend stay. Crossing the rd to get to the lake was a little sketchy, but the beach and dock area were great for fishing, swimming and getting a kayak out to the water. Morning view of lake was 10/10.

We called ahead to make sure there was availability for our RV and made the reservations by phone. When we got there we couldn't seem to get ahold of anybody. Finally after 20 minutes somebody showed up. She was busy on another part of the property which is understandable. The spaces are nice with a good amount of room. The spaces are nice with a good amount of room. There is a small Lakefront area across a busy highway with no lights to get across. My biggest complaint were the showers. There were two of them. One of them would not lock. The other one would lock with a little bit of struggle. The water was cold, there were more bugs than I care to share a small room with and there was a gap in the bottom of the door. It is fine for staying one night but I would not stay more than that.

My son and I stayed in the Diplomat II RV and it was the perfect home base while exploring Lake County! Easy parking and check-in plus a central location to all the best spots around the Lake. We met the owner who was extremely nice, as were all of the employees. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a rustic good time!

I cannot recommend Blue Lakes Village enough! I stayed for a night in one of their retro RVs and it exceeded all of my expectations. While I was there for just one night, it was packed with plenty of amenities for a longer stay, like a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot plates, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. The village also had a cute garden and dog park. But nothing can beat the setting—crystal clear night skies, peace and quiet, and of course the beautiful lake right across the road. I loved my stay at Blue Lakes Village and I will definitely be back!
