We had our family reunion at the campground again and always enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The kids love to wave at the trains passing by, and the engineers usually respond with a pull on the horn. The river is great for splashing and wading. Great place !!!

This was a great campground! It's on the calmer side of the park so the only traffic through there are other campers. The bathrooms are great and have sinks and actual flush toilets, plus a dishwashing sink. There were lots of water spigots throughout the campground. Quite a nice National Park campground. If it were crowded your neighbors would be too close, but it wasn't. Everything was clean, and it had potable water. A majestic sugar pine overlooked our site. Such a beautiful tree. Within walking distance of several must-see attractions. Recommend.

On our second morning, a pair of deer walked through our site which was amazing! I chose a site next to the bathroom and found the facilities to be clean, although they didn’t have any soap or hand sanitizer available so be sure to bring your own. They have regular plumbing and flush toilets, which was nice. They also had easy access to potable water. We enjoyed this campground because it was much quieter than the bigger ones and within walking distance of the Grant Grove Market and the General Grant tree. Also, just as an FYI, we had to book right when they opened for reservations online and the campgrounds booked up FAST. We were so thankful to book this site and our stay was beautiful and incredible.

It says about four people per camp site, I would honestly retina place next door as well as your campsite. There is no bushes or multiple trees for privacy. It's pretty. And you can hear everybody throughout the park. My dad and I went there on a weekday after a busy weekend and we could hear everybody in the park. I think it can fit about 38 campsites it says but it is very crammed and there was only about six campsites when I went there so I couldn't imagine going when it was busy. I definitely recommend going camping Monday through Wednesday. The rangers come by three or four times a day to check on the campsites. Most of them are pretty nice especially the females, but there was 1 young ranger that didn't seem very nice to me. Definitely reserve your campsite before you go here at your house don't do it here. Horrible internet service, and you won't have any service at all for internet or phones before you get here coming up the mountain. Also since it's so high up it may be hard for some people to to breathe. My dad is 68 and he had a problem.
