About Forks Campground

Campground in California.

Nestled in the heart of California's natural splendor, Forks Campground offers RV travelers an authentic escape into the forest with a modest, intimate setting that feels worlds away from crowded commercial parks. With just 21 sites, this National Forest campground provides the kind of peaceful retreat that appeals to those seeking genuine connection with nature rather than extensive amenities and entertainment options.

The campground's location within the National Forest system means you're surrounded by towering trees, pristine wilderness, and the kind of natural beauty that defines Northern California's landscape. The relatively small size of Forks Campground creates a community atmosphere among guests, where fellow travelers often become friends around evening campfires. This is the sort of place where you can actually hear the forest—birds singing, wind through the pines, perhaps a creek nearby—rather than the constant hum of activity.

Forks Campground appeals especially to RV enthusiasts who value solitude and simplicity over resort-style amenities. Whether you're a seasoned full-timer or a family looking to disconnect from daily life, the forest setting provides an ideal backdrop for hiking, wildlife observation, and outdoor exploration. The surrounding National Forest lands offer countless trails and natural attractions that make excellent day trips from your RV site.

The nearby region is rich with California's diverse attractions. Depending on the specific location within the state, visitors might find themselves positioned for access to mountain scenery, pristine rivers, or scenic byways that showcase the state's remarkable geography. The area attracts nature photographers, hikers, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone seeking authentic outdoor experiences.

This campground works particularly well for travelers who understand that the best amenity in a National Forest setting is the forest itself. Early morning coffee on your RV's deck, afternoon explorations on forest trails, and evening stargazing create the kind of memorable experiences that define great RV camping. It's an ideal base for those wanting to experience California's wild side at a relaxed pace.

This is a campground for tents, with no RV hookups. There is also day parking here for a couple of spots and 2 flushable bathrooms along with other bathrooms spread out.

I wish our campsite (10) had more room for tents along with our cars. It seemed more for trailers. At least it was close to the bathrooms and water faucet. Not too many bugs. Very friendly deer and the dragonflies and swallows put on quite the show at dusk

Beautiful spot and very clean! Campsite comes with a bear bin and a fire pit. Restrooms close by, and trash bins not too far away.

Mosquitos were killer this year, got eaten alive. Otherwise a nice campground with a pretty meadow.
