About PINES GROUP STANISLAUS

Federal campground in California.

Nestled in the heart of California's Sierra Nevada foothills, Pines Group Stanislaus offers a peaceful retreat into nature for RV enthusiasts seeking authentic forest camping. Located within the Stanislaus National Forest, this group campground provides an ideal setting for families, friends, and outdoor lovers who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life while remaining accessible to regional attractions.

The surrounding landscape is characterized by towering pine and fir trees that create a cool, shaded canopy perfect for summer camping when lower elevations become uncomfortably hot. The forest setting provides a genuine back-to-nature experience while the group camping format makes it an excellent choice for reunions, club gatherings, and multi-family trips. The area's elevation offers relief from valley heat and provides crisp mountain air that many visitors find rejuvenating.

What makes this location particularly appealing is its proximity to both outdoor recreation and charming communities. The Stanislaus National Forest surrounding the campground offers extensive opportunities for hiking, exploring scenic byways, and discovering hidden natural features. Visitors can venture to nearby lakes for fishing and water activities, or explore the numerous trails that wind through the forested terrain. The region is rich with California Gold Country history, and curious travelers can venture to historic mining towns and museums within reasonable driving distance.

The campground serves as an excellent base camp for those exploring the central Sierra Nevada region. Whether you're interested in photography, nature study, hiking, or simply enjoying quiet time among the trees, the setting provides abundant opportunities. The group camping format encourages community and shared experiences, making it perfect for creating lasting memories with your travel companions.

This destination appeals to RV travelers who value natural beauty, forest tranquility, and a genuine camping experience. The cooler mountain climate and shaded surroundings make it particularly attractive during hot months, while the stunning fall foliage draws visitors during autumn. Just outside yosemite 15mi, and close to rainbow pool! Perfect spot to stay if you dont want to camp in the madness of yosemite national park. Quiet, relaxed, with a caretaker in the summertime. Outhouses well cared for. Flys in the summer, but not much you can do about that. Bear boxes at each camp for food storage. Mine had ants, so make sure all food is sealed up! Small campground but clean and well maintained. Good number of water faucets and close by to trails. Only about 8 sites with some rather close together. Close to Rainbow Pool and Groveland for supplies. Dog friendly.

This campsite is really clean. Dont expect to be alone during the day as the Fire personnel are active around these backroads. In the night it is really quiet. Occasionally you can hear a car or 2 pass by on the road. The bathrooms are extremely clean. (Please help the camp host by keeping them that way). Wild Turkeys came in to camp with their baby Turkeys. No other wildlife seen. Big Ol spiders... This campsite is really clean. It’s their home. The campfire ring is huge. No electricity or signal here. A few peeps would get a wave of signal here or there. Keep the dogs leashed so they don’t go off and get hurt. There is water and it is potable as of 6/2024. Cheers !
