Faraway strings of beautiful yellow and red light flickering and moving on freeway 5. Sleeping with cricket singing and night cold weather is interesting and peaceful. In the morning we had breakfast with bees flying around our food and some birds with blue tail feathers. This camping have really good view surrounding with some not much tall trees, good well kept restrooms with sinks, toilet bowls (having bunches of toilet paper and running water). Close by around 15 minutes car driving or 30 minutes bike riding we have Buck Creek trailhead around 7.5 miles. This is not my trail recommendation. It’d better enjoying water activities in Pyramid Lake Recreation Area with $15 parking per vehicle. This recreation area has fishing, swimming, sky jetting, boating… with dog friendly. Spending almost whole day at this beautiful area we came back our camping site to see most of our tents, canopies flying everywhere by strong wind (I don’t know by effect of Hilary Hurricane or by default of this location). Some one told us the wind will gone after sunset. However we decided to leave 1 day earlier than planed. I wish you all have a good time with beloved family and friends in this camp site. Best regards.

Very beautiful place! Full cell service here, and the ranger station has amenities such as ice and wood. There isn’t much shade so be mindful that during summer it gets very hot during the day, but luckily there’s a lake nearby that you can swim in to cool off. If you don’t have extra money don’t drive over there, there’s a $15 per car fee to park. Spigots are everywhere, and the bathrooms are wat... Very beautiful place! There’s a lot of cricket noise at night so you can’t the highway nearby at all. Good place to view stars, you won’t see all of them but you can see more than in the city. Bring bug spray! Mosquitos and flies are very friendly. I didn’t see too much bear activity, but they are around so follow the bear procedures for sure. Lots of rabbits too! Ravens in the campsite and beautiful bird song to wake up to. It does get cold at night, even with temperatures up to 90degrees during the day so bring blankets! No showers though, so don’t plan on that!

Overall: This campground is a great option for those who are looking for a secluded and adventurous camping experience. The large campsite is perfect for groups, and the lack of shade means you'll be able to stargaze at night. The abundance of hiking trails make this campground a great place to explore the great outdoors. Tips: Bring your own shade, such as a canopy or tarp, if you're camping during hot weather. Pack plenty of water, as there are no showers at this campground. Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars Would I recommend this campground? Yes, I would recommend this campground to anyone who is looking for a secluded and adventurous camping experience.

Very rude concessionaire. No sign on door and said she would do nothing next 2 days as they were her days off. Signs offering supplies but said there was nothing there. Great hikes and campsites though.
