The Van Vleck Bunkhouse is a great place to visit in the Tahoe National Forest. It is located about 6 miles away off the main road, but the road to reach it is paved and it is only about a 1/4 mile hike down an old fire road to reach the bunkhouse. The vast meadow and views from the bunkhouse are fantastic.

Very interesting place. Very old but renovated. Hiked from Loon lake and went back. Trail with a lot of down trees. Great views and beautiful area.
