About Goldfield Miners Camp

Campground in California.

Goldfield Miners Camp offers a unique window into California's fascinating Gold Rush heritage, situated in the historic town of Goldfield. This RV park provides an authentic base for exploring one of the American West's most storied mining communities, where echoes of the 1880s still resonate through weathered buildings and dusty streets.

The park's location in Goldfield places you at the heart of Inyo County's rich history. The town itself is a living museum of California's gold mining era, with original structures and artifacts that tell the story of fortune seekers who flocked to these desert mountains over a century ago. Walking through Goldfield feels like stepping back in time, and staying at Goldfield Miners Camp puts you perfectly positioned to explore this remarkable destination at your own pace.

For history enthusiasts, the surrounding area offers compelling attractions and learning opportunities. The nearby Cerro Gordo ghost town, perched high in the Inyo Mountains, showcases remarkably preserved mining infrastructure and structures from the region's prosperous silver mining days. Death Valley National Park lies within reasonable driving distance, offering otherworldly desert landscapes, colorful badlands, and some of the most striking natural scenery in North America. The park's proximity to the Sierra Nevada mountain range means visitors can enjoy dramatic alpine scenery, hiking trails, and outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the seasons.

The high desert setting provides clear night skies ideal for stargazing, a peaceful escape from light pollution found in populated areas. Wildlife viewing is possible in this remote region, and photographers will find abundant subjects in both the historic ruins and natural landscapes. The local community maintains a welcoming atmosphere for travelers interested in learning about regional heritage and outdoor adventure.

Goldfield Miners Camp serves as an excellent home base for those seeking solitude, history, and connection to California's Gold Rush past. Whether you're an RV traveler passionate about American history, a nature lover drawn to remote desert scenery, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat off the beaten path, this location offers a distinctive camping experience grounded in authentic Western heritage.

A charming RV spot located within walking distance of restaurants and historical buildings. Suitable for all sizes of rigs. Warm, clean showers and bathrooms. 50 amp power, but they have 50/30 converters available on the honor system. A nice peaceful place. We will definitely return

Thanks for the great stay. Planned for 1 night stayed for 2. Nice, clean and quite well managed RV spot. Easy check-in, walked to a local saloon for a cold one and enjoyed some chicken fingers and the best fries down the street at Dinky Diner. For the Saloon we chose The Mozart Tavern. Santa Fe Saloon not for us….way too smokey and not welcoming at all. Enjoyed the motorbike ride to many old gold... Thanks for the great stay. Planned for 1 night stayed for 2. We weren't planning to stay in Goldfield, but the timing worked out. We selected this park, partially because it was Passport America. We were pleasantly surprised at what a great this newly renovated park was. It looks like it will be expanding and will be even more welcoming . Our contact here was Tim and he came to help us get setup. I will stay here again the next time we come through.

A really nice RV park with pull through sites. Lots of information about the town given when checking in. Such an interesting history. Easy walking to main part of town. Friendly people, historical surroundings, clean, 2 bathrooms and showers but full hookups that are easy to hook into. Group area for BBQ and cooking with a fire pit. We would easily stay here again.
