About Goldfield RV Park

Campground in California.

Nestled in the heart of Goldfield, California, this RV park offers a unique opportunity to experience one of the American West's most intriguing ghost towns. Located at 410 South Fourth Street, the park serves as an ideal base for exploring the rich mining history and stark desert beauty that define this remote corner of Inyo County.

Goldfield itself is a fascinating destination for history enthusiasts and desert adventurers alike. Once a thriving gold mining town in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Goldfield has preserved much of its character and heritage, allowing visitors to step back in time and imagine the bustling community that once thrived here. The town's historic buildings and artifacts tell stories of prospectors, miners, and families who sought their fortunes in these remote mountains. For those interested in California's Gold Rush era, exploring Goldfield provides an authentic and less crowded alternative to other historical mining sites.

The surrounding landscape is dramatic and beautiful, featuring rugged desert terrain, distant mountain ranges, and wide open skies that offer stunning sunsets and exceptional stargazing opportunities. The elevation and desert climate create comfortable camping conditions, particularly during spring and fall months. This is the kind of place where you can truly disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature and history.

Beyond the immediate area, Goldfield's location provides access to several notable attractions within reasonable driving distance. The nearby Death Valley National Park is one of the most iconic destinations in the American West, famous for its extreme landscapes, colorful badlands, and unique geological formations. Adventure seekers and photographers will find endless opportunities in this otherworldly environment. Additionally, the area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and desert exploration for those seeking outdoor recreation.

The park caters to RV travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience, history buffs curious about California's mining heritage, photographers looking to capture desert and historical imagery, and anyone yearning for solitude and authentic Western adventure. Whether you're planning an extended stay to thoroughly explore Goldfield or using it as a jumping-off point for Death Valley adventures, this location provides a memorable camping experience in one of California's most distinctive regions.

Simple, nice RV park with Full hookups. Each site has a tree. No showers/bathrooms. $30 with cash. We overnighted here. Located above town and you have a nice view of Goldfield looking South. Called ahead and the manager came later to collect the fee.

Very nice rv oark in goldfield, easy pull thru spots, very low rates, full hookup, no amenities. Great stop over for a couple days of exploring the wonderful old town of goldfield which is an antique pickers dream, or just to stop for a night. Randy the host is readily available when you arrive. Just call and reserve a spot.

I was at the site and called the caretaker. He told me which site to take along with a price and that he would be by later to settle up. He gave me some good sightseeing advice. I stayed there 2 nights in a 16' TT. Wifi was solid. This was the last week in September 2025.

This is a great little RV park. It’s in Goldfield, which is perfect for when you’re traveling and need a place before Tonopah. Tree cover and RV hookups, and the owner is very friendly and accommodating to cars and SUVs as well—and extremely knowledgeable about Goldfield mining history.

One of the best priced RV parks I’ve ever visited. Not fancy but nice sites. Easy access to town. Easily accommodated us when we decided to stay another night. Town is a fascinating combination of ghost town and thriving community.
