Mosquitos were surprisingly not a huge problem. In the morning we visited the watering hole, which was a beautiful rushing part of the stream surrounded by rocks and easy ways in and out of the water. The hosts in the office when we arrived and when we departed were genuinely kind and helpful. We stopped here on our road trip along the 49, and we would visit again.

Absolutely beautiful location. They have a “swimming hole” which had a waterfall, a rope swing and beautiful clean water. Water is a little chilly but nice on a hot summer day. Decent amount of food options really close by. Also only about 30 minuets from Yosemite’s south entrance, and an hour and 10 minutes from the valley (be at the entrance by 6AM latest to avoid lines and find parking). Definitely wasn’t expecting it to be so cool! Hot showers, not the nicest I’ve ever been in but they did the job. Clean bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again!

I am truly appalled by the events of today. I’ve been living here in my own rv for the last 6 months. Some visitors, for the first time in 6 months, complained that I was “shouting at my dogs” What really happened is that my very sweet 11lb 3yr old well-trained pup was in my yard right next to the road. Sometimes, he wanders across to pee on a pole, and I go scoop him up and bring him back and there was an rv that was coming the hill/road. On this potty walk in the yard, I was just on the other side of a tree with my two other pups on leashes (because they are 4 months and not trained like my 3yr old), and in a moment of panic since I couldn’t see my pup, thinking he might wander across the road, I jumped onto the road shouting for the folks in the rv to stop. They did. I was told by someone who works here that isn’t the manager that it was a temporary stay that complained. Now, all this is well and fine for someone to complain, but when I tried to talk to Michelle, the manager, about it, she acted like I was an inconvenience, and bullied me out of the office. Before going into the office: Having JUST heard that my mother only has 4 months left to live due to her stage 4, I was feeling pretty upset already before going to the office to see why they had called me twice. Michelle informed me that I was reported to be speeding (which was true, I had recently left in a hurry), and that I was reported for shouting at my dogs. I was taken aback by the second complaint. I immediately began going into questions and explanations, feeling irritated that people are reporting me for the way I interact with my dogs, which was insulting, and then when I told Michelle that about the story of my pup off leash in my yard, she cut me off saying “I let you talk, now let me talk”… I wasn’t aware that my explanation was limited to a few words, so I was kinda shocked and upset that this customer service rep/property manager just shut me down mid explanation. At one point, I said “aren’t you supposed to be in customer service?” And she said “No, I’m a manager, not customer service”……. What?!?!? At this point the exchange had turned weird and hostile as Michelle said “you’re on camera”… Um… okay? Then as I continued to ask why she would point that out, she told me to leave the office or she’d call the sheriff… At this point, my head is spinning. I’m stunned. Why is the property manager being so intensely aggressive. I can only guess she had a lot of work to do and didn’t want to have the conversation, because she pointed out that she had REVIEW comment responses to give, and she didn’t have time for me. Keeping in mind that, before going into the office, I had just received further awful news about my moms terminal condition, and when I tried to explain that, Michelle callously blew over that and continued to bully me out of the office with threats to call the police. I am seriously at a loss here. How is that okay? How is a property manager actually managing a property thinking they AREN’T CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! This place will fall apart under Michelle’s leadership. I’m leaving here next month, and I recommend anyone hoping for good management on the long term front, avoid this place like the plague! Aside from this awkwardly inappropriate event, the water and electricity have gone out countless times in the last 6 months. That’s not an exaggeration! Best of luck to you travelers, and Michelle, when you read this, understand, please….. You ARE in customer service! If you don’t get that, get a different job
