Petaluma is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

Best military campground my wife and I have been too. Only accessible to those with a military ID (that I am aware of). Tent camping is across the lake, but I would just pay for the RV spot even with a tent (plus, the tent camping area is covered in goose poop). You can use the fire pit and be close to the bathroom if you get an RV spot. Dogs are allowed if leashed. The staff makes it clear that y... Best military campground my wife and I have been too. Base has everything you need from a gas station to an exchange to a movie theater. The base is right in the middle of everything in that area (1 hr from Guerneville; 20 min from Petaluma downtown; 30 mins from Point Reyes Station; etc). The best part is how small and private the campground is. It’s on the opposite side of base from the main gate and past military housing. Because it’s only six, spread-out spots, you’ll never have too many people there even if it is full. The views are very vice, and campers are able to see the hills and farms out to the West, North, and East. The area is very quiet near the campground.

This CG is very small. About 6 sites total. The sites are leveled concrete and plenty of space. I recommend getting site 4 as it faces out to a green field with plenty of room to let dogs run around. The coast guard base has a 24/7 self checkout express store which is nice when you want a quick snack or early morning coffee. There is a pizza place that we didn't get to try, but has good reviews There is no diesel on the base and the closest gas station that has diesel is about 15 to 20 minutes away. Petaluma city was nice, with plenty of things to see and do. San Francisco was about 45 minutes to an hour away. There is a playground for kids that always has kids playing. They don't assign you a site during the reservation. You drive to the camp ground, pick your site, then go to the HUB building and pick up your display plaque. Do not try and stop at the HUB building first, especially if you have a big rig. There are no laundry facilities, restrooms or showers. The sites are also partial hook up. Ours had two 30amp and a 15amp. The 15amp did not work and one of the 30amp showed improper grounding on our surge protector. The dump station is about a mile or so from the camp site. Make sure to bring your own hose as the one they have is barely hanging on lol. Overall it was the peacefulness that we enjoyed.

One of our favorite RV military Campgrounds. Very small, well maintained, extremely friendly staff. 30 Amp electric, water, TV, fire rings and picnic tables. Catch and release pond, kids playground, and a large group BBQ area under canopy. 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. Located at Two Rock on the map. Camped here over Labor Day weekend. Parking was level. Six sites total. Lots of thorns in the grass so keep an close eye on little ones. Lots of deer and turkey on base. Pond is very low and impossible to access water for fishing.

I love it here. My family always reserves a spot at least 3 weekends a year so we can spend the day together swimming and spending time together in nature.

Been coming to Bass Lake for 37 years and my parents for many years before me. Love this place and the cherished memories. I'm now passing on to my kids a family tradition I hope they love too.
