About Marina Dunes RV Park

Campground in California.

Marina Dunes RV Park offers RV travelers a genuine California coastal escape where sandy beaches meet welcoming hospitality. Located in Marina, California, this park puts you right in the heart of the stunning Monterey Peninsula, one of the most beautiful and sought-after destinations on the Pacific Coast.

The Marina area is known for its perfect balance of natural beauty and convenient access to some of California's most iconic attractions. You're positioned ideally for exploring the legendary Big Sur coastline, with its dramatic cliffs and breathtaking ocean vistas just a scenic drive away. The charming town of Carmel-by-the-Sea, famous for its upscale galleries, boutiques, and exceptional dining, is within easy reach. History enthusiasts will appreciate proximity to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, consistently ranked among the world's finest, and the historic Cannery Row district with its maritime heritage and museums.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the location provides exceptional opportunities. Beaches around Marina and nearby Monterey Bay are perfect for coastal walks, tide pooling, and observing the rich marine life that makes this region special. The area is renowned for excellent opportunities to spot sea otters, seals, and migrating whales depending on the season. Golf enthusiasts will find themselves near world-class courses that take advantage of the dramatic coastal terrain. Hiking trails abound throughout the peninsula, offering everything from easy coastal strolls to more challenging inland paths through pine forests.

The mild California coastal climate means pleasant weather for much of the year. Temperatures remain moderate, typically ranging from the 50s to 70s Fahrenheit, making it comfortable for outdoor activities without extreme heat or cold. The area experiences the characteristic marine layer common to the California coast, which often burns off by midday to reveal spectacular sunshine.

Marina itself is a working waterfront community with genuine character. Local restaurants serve fresh seafood and regional specialties, farmers markets offer seasonal produce, and you'll find all necessary services and supplies. The community maintains a relaxed, authentic California coastal vibe without the overdevelopment of some nearby areas.

This location appeals to travelers seeking authentic coastal California experiences, retirees looking for mild-weather destinations, families wanting outdoor recreation combined with cultural attractions, and anyone who dreams of parking their RV with ocean-inspired views and genuine West Coast charm within reach.

Clean, cozy, and a short walk to the beach! Stayed one night in a yurt: comfortable bed, linens and towels provided, plus fire pit, picnic table, and chairs. Restrooms and showers were great. Graded flat spots. Fenced area with a picnic table. We had a 50amp spot, full hookups. Great customer service. Easy to park wide roads. Near the beach, and had great bike paths.

We’ve been camping here for years, and it’s always been our go to spot for spring and summer getaways. The beach is just a short walk from our RV campsite, which is a huge plus. While you can hear some noise from the freeway, it’s barely noticeable with the ocean so close by. The location is incredibly convenient, especially being near Monterey Bay which is the main reason we keep coming back. As members of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we love that we can camp here and easily drive to the Aquarium. Our stays have always been memorable, and we look forward to returning year after year.

One of the best parks that is available to Thousand Trails members. Great location and nice spots. Yes the highway can be loud but it is not that bad and if you are here more that a couple of days it fades into background noise.

Can get packages delivered directly to your site (WHICH IS GREATLY APPRECIATED). They take extra care to make sure gravel is blown off the road and even rake the gravel parking spaces after vehicles leave to give a fresh and clean impression. NEVER seen that before. An extra touch of care. Certainly not taking the lazy approach. The sand at the beach is very coarse, which means it doesn't pack down, even when wet. Always a soft step and unrideable by fat tire bikes. Bike path not too far on other side of highway alongside a road heading north-south.
